A hand held personal care device (1) with an operative unit (3) connected to a main housing (2), a light source (24), and an optically transparent light guide (23) having a light receiving surface (27), a light emitting surface (6) and a light guiding member (31) extending from the light receiving surface to the light emitting surface for guiding light from the light receiving surface to the light emitting surface. The light source is arranged in a watertight chamber (51) of the main housing. The main housing includes an optically transparent wall portion (52) arranged adjacent to the light source and bounding the watertight chamber. The light guide is arranged outside the watertight chamber and the light receiving surface is arranged adjacent to the optically transparent wall portion in a position for receiving light from the light source via the optically transparent wall portion.
SHAVING DEVICE, SHAVING SYSTEM WITH THE SHAVING DEVICE AND A CLEANING DEVICE, AND A CLEANING METHOD
A shaving system comprises a shaving device and a cleaning device. The shaving device has an orientation sensor for generating an output signal representing the orientation of the shaving device. The cleaning device supports the shaving device in a cleaning position with a predefined cleaning orientation. The cleaning device is controlled to operate according to a predefined cleaning program for cleaning the shaving unit when the orientation sensed by the orientation sensor corresponds to said predefined cleaning orientation. This shaving device thus makes use of an orientation sensor to identify when the shaving device is in a cleaning orientation. This gives a low cost sensing solution and enables a single user input button to be used for operating the shaving device and for starting a cleaning program.
Method and Apparatus for a Clipper
An electric clipper having a body, a motor disposed within the body, a clipper head that operably couples to the body and that is powered by the motor, a power actuator configured to power on and off the motor such that when the motor is powered on by the power actuator the motor operates at a normal level of performance and at least one boost actuator configured to provide increased operating performance of the clipper head when actuated by a user. By one approach the increased operating performance is provided for only a set amount of time.
2-IN-1 MODULAR GROOMING DEVICE
An electric-powered trimmer includes a cutting assembly having a stationary blade. A moveable blade is positioned on the stationary blade such that a cutting gap is defined between the moveable blade and the stationary blade. The moveable blade is configured to move along a first axis and a second axis extending orthogonal to the first axis. An adjustment mechanism is operable to move the moveable blade along the second axis relative to the stationary blade to selectively change the size of the cutting gap.
PROVIDING FEEDBACK TO A USER OF A SHAVING DEVICE DURING A SHAVING OPERATION
According to an aspect there is provided a computer-implemented method of providing feedback to a user of a shaving device during a shaving operation. The method comprises determining values for one or more parameters, the one or more parameters comprising at least one of: (i) a shaving frequency measure indicating how often the user performs a shaving operation using the shaving device, (ii) a skin irritation measure indicating skin irritation experienced by the user during and/or following a shaving operation with the shaving device, (iii) a shaving closeness measure indicating how short the user desires their hair to be after a shaving operation with the shaving device, and (iv) whether the shaving device is used on wet or dry skin during the shaving operation. The method further comprises determining a pressure range for the user based on the determined values for the one or more parameters, wherein the pressure range has an upper pressure threshold and a lower pressure threshold; during a shaving operation using the shaving device, receiving pressure measurements representing the pressure with which the shaving device is being applied onto the skin of the user; comparing the received pressure measurements to the determined pressure range to determine feedback for the user relating to the applied pressures with respect to the determined pressure range; and outputting a feedback control signal to a feedback component associated with the shaving device, wherein the feed-back control signal is for controlling the feedback component to provide the determined feedback to the user. Other aspects provide a corresponding apparatus and computer program product.
Hair Cutting Device Adapted for Cutting One's Own Hair
A hair cutting device adapted for cutting one's own hair comprises a comb piece having teeth with smooth comb edges near open ends and sharp cutting edges near closed ends, a moving cutting arm with sharp cutting teeth in contact and rough alignment with the sharp cutting edges of the comb piece, capable of reciprocating sideways back and forth and cutting hair in conjunction with the sharp cutting edges of the comb piece, and a hair guard in close proximity along their lengths. The hair guard can be lowered to expose the sharp cutting edges of the comb piece and moving cutting arm to cut hair or raised above the sharp cutting edges to work as a comb.
System, appliance and method for automated hair processing procedures
The present disclosure relates to an automated grooming appliance (20) for hair processing procedures, the appliance (20) comprising a processing head (58) including a blade set (22) having a processing width (36), a length setting unit (26) that is operatively coupled to the blade set (22), and a control unit (40) that is arranged to operate the length setting unit (26) based on a hairstyle model (90) that correlates position data and hair processing data, wherein the control unit (40) is arranged to adjust a length setting dependent on an actual position and an actual orientation of the blade set (22). The present disclosure further relates to an automated hair processing system (10), to a method of operating an automated grooming appliance (20), and to a corresponding computer program.
SURGICAL HAIR CLIPPERS AND VACUUM APPARATUSES INCLUDING SENSING AND FEEDBACK DEVICES
A vacuum apparatus for collecting cut hair includes a housing and a motor located in the housing. A fan is operatively connected to the motor for producing a negative pressure within a filter assembly. A filter assembly includes a filter housing and a filter is located in the filter housing. The filter is configured to move away from an end of the filter housing and increase a storage volume for cut hair within the filter housing. A position sensor is located in the filter housing that is configured to detect the filter. A processor receives a signal from the position sensor when the position sensor detects presence of the filter. The processor uses logic saved in a memory to instruct the motor to increase speed of the motor from an initial speed based on the signal.
Computer-implemented method for providing visual feedback to a user of a rotary shaver, and an apparatus and computer program product implementing the same
