Observation-enhanced virtual master system for a printing press
A web printing press is provided. The web printing press includes at least one printing unit printing images on a web, at least one press component in direct contact with the web, a cutting device for cutting the web into sheets and a controller transmitting a virtual master signal to the at least one printing unit and at least one press component. A sensor senses the at least one press component or directly senses the web downstream of the at least one print unit and generates a sensor signal. A processor receives the sensor signal and the virtual master signal, the processor transmits a modified virtual master signal to the cutting device as a function of the received sensor signal. Methods are also provided.

SEPARATOR FOR PROVIDING SEGMENTS OF COLLATED FASTENERS
The present invention relates to a separator, a separator combined or integrated with a collator and a method of such separators, in order to provide segments of collated fasteners. Segments of collated fasteners are mainly used by builders, who are assembling e.g. wooden structures or for mounting purposes, to engage the fasteners by shooting or screwing the fastener into a structure with a pneumatically operated tool such as a nail gun. The separator is adapted for receiving a continuous flow of collated fasteners, wherein the separator comprisesa fastener counter connected to a controller and configured to send a signal to the controller corresponding to at least one fastener having been counted,a puncher adapted for punching an end section of at least one fastener to separate a segment including a plurality of collated fasteners in a punching direction, and where the controller is configured to timely activate the puncher, when a predetermined number of collated fasteners in the continuous flow have been counted and a corresponding time for the counting of the predetermined number of collated fasteners has been determined.

FOOD PRODUCT SLICER AND ASSOCIATED CARRIAGE TRACKING SYSTEM
A food product slicer includes a base, a knife mounted for rotation relative to the base, a carriage mounted to the base for reciprocal movement back and forth past a cutting edge of the knife and a drive linked to move the carriage. A distance sensing system is arranged to detect a distance of a movable part from a defined location, wherein the movable part is part of the drive or part of the carriage, in order to detect and track a position of the carriage.
Terminal Strip Cutting System and Terminal Strip Cutting Method
A terminal strip cutting system includes a conveying device, a braking device, a position detection device, a position judgment device, and a cutting device. The conveying device conveys a terminal strip in a predetermined direction. The braking device is adapted to brake the terminal strip to stop it. The position detection device is adapted to detect a stop position of the terminal strip. The position judgment device is adapted to determine whether the terminal strip has stopped at a correct cutting position based on the detection result of the position detection device. The cutting device is adapted to cut off the carrier tape of the terminal strip in order to cut a section of terminal strip from the conveyed terminal strip. When the position judgment device determines that the terminal strip is stopped at the correct cutting position, the cutting device is closed and cuts off the carrier tape.
