Cutting machine with positively controlled pressing and cutting process
A cutting machine includes a cutting support for material to be cut, a vertically movable blade bar which bears a blade for cutting the cut material located thereon, a cutting drive for vertically moving the blade bar, a vertically movable clamping bar for pushing down the material to be cut and a pressing drive for vertically moving the clamping bar. The cutting drive and the pressing drive are formed by a single drive which rotates a cam disc to and fro, wherein the blade bar is motion-coupled to the cam disc via a first coupling mechanism which acts on the cam disc eccentrically to the axis of rotation thereof. The clamping bar is motion-coupled to the cam disc via a second coupling mechanism, the one end thereof acting on the outer contour of the cam disc.
BUNDLE BREAKER INCLUDING A PLATEN HAVING A COMPRESSIBLE BOTTOM SURFACE
A bundle breaker includes first and second platens located above upstream and downstream breaking supports and first and second actuators configured to move the platens to selectively clamp logs between the platens and the breaking supports. A third actuator moves the second breaking support relative to the first breaking support to break bundles off the log. A foam sheet is attached to the bottom of each of the first and second platens and is configured to be compressed when the logs are clamped. The bottom surfaces of the foam sheets are preferably at least partially coated with an elastomeric coating or at least partially covered by an elastomeric sheet.

A bundle breaker includes first and second platens located above upstream and downstream breaking supports and first and second actuators configured to move the platens to selectively clamp logs between the platens and the breaking supports. A third actuator moves the second breaking support relative to the first breaking support to break bundles off the log. A bundle breaker has downstream and upstream breaking supports, first and second platens located over the respective breaking supports and first and second actuators to move the platens to selectively clamp portions of a log against the breaking supports. A third actuator shifts the downstream breaking support relative to the upstream breaking support from a first position to a second position to break a bundle from the log. A scrap chute is mounted below a junction of the upstream and downstream breaking support to catch scrap material falling between the upstream support and the downstream breaking support. Each time the downstream breaking conveyor is shifted to the second position, scrap in the chute is jolted and is shifted toward a discharge opening of the scrap chute and, optionally, into a scrap drawer.

Described herein is an array of finished products, each finished product in said array may have a Percent Compressibility of greater than 3.00% and an actual length ranging from about 10.955 inches to about 11.045 inches. The finished products may be paper towels, where the actual length is different for at least two finished products of the array and where at least one of the finished products of the array of finished products may comprise a protruding core and where at least one of the finished products may comprise a hidden core, and where each of the finished products are in a package.

The delivery pad holds the workpiece under suction while being mounted on the moving unit and delivers the workpiece by being moved by the moving unit while holding the workpiece under suction.

The delivery pad holds the workpiece under suction while being mounted on the moving unit and delivers the workpiece by being moved by the moving unit while holding the workpiece under suction.
