A slicing machine for slicing a product calibre into slices and producing shingled or stacked portions from the slices includes a slicing unit, a feeding unit for feeding at least one calibre to the slicing unit along a feeding direction, a discharge unit for discharging the slices or the portions in a direction of travel of the machine, and a gripper movable along the feeding direction. The gripper includes a product parameter detection apparatus configured to detect at least one product parameter of the calibre of product held by the gripper. The product parameter detection apparatus is configured to communicate with a product parameter analysis apparatus configured to store product parameters detected by the product parameter detection apparatus and/or to process them into a processing result.

Multi-type food processing device and method

The present disclosure relates to a method and device for processing food. The device comprises at least two food slicing devices adapted to each produce partial portions, and a combination device disposed downstream of each food slicing device to combine the partial portions to a multi-type portion. A sensor assembly may be provided to determine at least one property of the partial portions, wherein a control device is provided to control the operation of the food slicing devices based on the properties of the respective partial portions to adjust the weight of the partial portions. A control device is alternatively provided to synchronize the timing of the slicing operation of the food slicing devices. A buffering device is alternatively provided between at least one food slicing device and the combination device to retain and release partial portions based on a control signal from a control device.

A food log slicing apparatus includes a base, a frame mounted on the base, a loaf tray, a drive assembly, a shear bar and a slicing station mounted on the frame. The loaf tray and the shear bar are divided into a plurality of side-by-side lanes, each of which are configured to receive multiple food logs stacked in a column. Each lane has a base wall on which a lowest one of the food logs rests which is angled relative to horizontal ground. The drive assembly moves the food logs from the loaf tray to the shear bar and into the slicing station. The slicing station has a driven blade which is parallel to a planar downstream face of the shear bar, and cuts all of the food logs as the blade passes through the food logs.

A muntin bar fabrication system can be used to efficiency produce a wide variety of different types of muntin bars, allowing the fabrication of both standard and custom muntin bar assemblies for doors, windows, and other fenestration products. In some examples, the fabrication system includes a muntin bar stock storage assembly that holds multiple different types of muntin bar stock. The system also includes a muntin bar stock extraction device that extracts one of the different types of muntin bar stock from the storage assembly and conveys the extracted muntin bar stock to a feed device. The feed device feeds the extracted piece of muntin bar stock into a cutting system that includes a multi-axis cutter. The cutting system that performs one or more cutting operations on the extracted muntin bar stock so as to fabricate one or more individual muntin bars from the extracted muntin bar stock.

To ensure that, during slicing, a gripper can remain stationary when a log which it is holding has been completely sliced while other grippers move forward for the slicing of the other logs they are holding, a hydraulic cylinder unit is arranged between each gripper and a gripper carriage, which unit is either switched pressureless in a lane of the completely sliced log or is hydraulically connected to the other hydraulic cylinder units in order to allow the displacement of hydraulic medium from the hydraulic cylinder unit of the completely sliced log, which retracts during further slicing, into the other hydraulic cylinder units.
