METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREPARING MAGNETIC BAMBOO WOOD
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of wood preparation, and in particular, to a method and device for preparing a magnetic bamboo wood. A technical problem to be solved in the present disclosure is that: Lignin in a wood will affect the soaking efficiency of the wood during soaking of the wood. In the present disclosure, sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfite in a ratio of 2:1 are put into the soaking bucket in sequence through the high-precision powder weighing equipment and are fully dissolved in distilled water to obtain a solution, so that the solution reacts with the lignin in the bamboo wood to elute the lignin, which increases the porosity of the bamboo wood, improves the soaking efficiency, and improves the magnetism of the bamboo wood.
Process for the production of an impregnated wood piece, impregnated wood piece obtainable by such a process and pencil having a sheath made of such an impregnated wood piece
A process for the production of impregnated wood pieces for use in pencil production, and pencils with shafts including such impregnated wood pieces, wherein the process comprises two process stages, namely a) a first process stage, comprising a first impregnation step, in which an untreated wood piece is at least partially, impregnated with a first aqueous impregnating solution of an impregnating agent selected from the group consisting of 1,3-dimethylol-4,5-dihydroxyethylene urea or a derivative or modification thereof, and a catalyst, and a subsequent curing step, in which the impregnated wood piece is cured in a hot steam atmosphere at an elevated temperature above 100? C., and b) a second process stage comprising a second impregnation step, whereby the impregnated, cured wood piece is at least partially impregnated with a second aqueous impregnating solution of a wax emulsion paraffin based as an impregnating agent.
Chemically modified wood and non-wood products and methods for the production thereof
Provided is a process for chemically modifying wood or non-wood comprising: (a) impregnating said wood or non-wood with an aqueous composition comprising an acid polymerization catalyst; (b) impregnating the wood or non-wood product from step (a) with 3-furfuryl borate (3-FB); and (c) subjecting the wood product from (b) for a time and under conditions to affect polymerization of the 3-FB. Modified wood and non-wood products are also provided.
Methods and systems for impregnating wood with a polymer solution and products thereof
The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to methods and systems for impregnating wood with a polymer solution and products thereof. In some embodiments, the present disclosure relates to a method of processing a wood piece to generate a wood product, the method comprising: (a) placing the wood piece into a reactor having a chamber pressure of a vacuum environment; (b) exposing the wood piece to a polymer solution; (c) performing an iterative process where each cycle of the iterative process comprises a pressurizing period during which the chamber pressure is increased to an increased chamber pressure and a stabilizing period during which the chamber pressure is monitored to measure a chamber pressure decrease, if any; (d) when the decrease of chamber pressure during the stabilizing period is less than or equal to the certain threshold change, normalizing the reactor chamber to a normalized pressure; and (e) setting the wood piece to generate the wood product. The present disclosure further relates to a wood product generated by a method of processing a wood piece.
METHOD FOR THE MODIFICATION OF WOOD
Disclosed is a method for the continuous impregnation of wood elements, such as wood chips. The method comprises the subsequent steps of subjecting the wood elements to vacuum, to contact with acetylation fluid, and to impregnation pressure. Preferably, the process is conducted in a plant having conveyors, such as transportation screws, in suitable positions between the zones in which the subsequent process steps are conducted. The impregnation method is used in connection with the acetylation of the wood elements, and preferably is followed by a continuous acetylation process conducted in an acetylation reaction zone downstream of the zone where the impregnation is conducted.
In-Process Drying for Oil Based Timber Treatment
In general, the present disclosure is directed to a method for treating a wood product. The method disclosed herein includes: i) injecting an oil-based preservative into a treatment chamber with the wood product; ii) pressurizing the treatment chamber with the wood product and the oil-based preservative in order to impregnate the wood product with the oil-based preservative; iii) releasing the pressure of the treatment chamber to atmospheric pressure; iv) performing an intermediate drying phase; v) after performing the intermediate drying phase, draining the oil-based preservative from the treatment chamber; and vi) applying a vacuum within the treatment chamber in order to remove excess preservative from surface of the impregnated wood product.
Modified timber
The invention relates to a treatment composition for timber or wood including fire-retardant and either a crosslinking agent or a fixing agent or both, whereby the composition is boron- and halogen-free.
Green process for modifying wood
This invention relates to a process for modifying wood. The process comprises treating the wood with an impregnating solution comprising an alkali metal (or alkaline earth metal) silicate, under conditions sufficient to impregnate the wood with one or more of the components of the impregnating solution. The process can comprise an optional second impregnation with a second impregnating solution. The process also comprises adding gaseous carbon dioxide to the treated wood, in the absence or presence of water, under pressure ranging from about 2 to about 12 bars, thereby lowering the pH of the treated wood to about 11 or below, to stabilize and/or fix the components of the impregnating solution in the wood. The process is green, non-toxic, and the resulting modified wood or wood product can be used across all primary construction and infrastructure applications.
Wood protecting methods and wood products produced with the methods
Disclosed herein is an environmentally friendly wood protecting method against biological deterioration such as fungal, bacterial and insect damage and non-biological wood deterioration such as weathering. The method comprises contacting a wood material with an aqueous solution of a zirconium salts which is followed by a heat treatment step, providing durable protection of wood against biodegradation and improving several other properties of the treated wood.
