ROBOTIC SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING FURNITURE
Systems, devices and methods for assembling a piece of furniture are described herein. The systems include a robot including a base, a robotic arm coupled to the base and a multi-functional robotic head coupled to the robotic arm. The multi-functional robotic head includes a camera configured to scan a barcode positioned on a part presented to the robot. The barcode provides instructions to the robot for attaching one or more hardware components to the part to assemble the piece of furniture. The multi-functional robotic head also includes a first applicator mechanism configured to apply an adhesive to the part; a first gripping mechanism configured to grip a first hardware component to be manoeuvred by the robotic arm to a first position to be attached to the part, and a first attachment mechanism configured to attach the first hardware component to the part at the first position.
Engineered floor board
The present invention relates to a flexible sheet of wood strips for use in the fabrication of engineered floor boards or wood sheets and including the machine and method of manufacture of the flexible sheet of wood strips. The wood strips provide a wood floor which has much more stability than a solid wood plank which is much more affected by the temperature in a room and the moisture under the floor board. Also solid wood planks are much more expensive than engineered wood planks where only a very thin layer of quality wood material is utilized. The transverse wood strips are constructed of inferior wood material. Two or more treads of flexible material may be secured transversely to the wood strips to provide additional retention of the wood strips in the flexible sheet.
Coated multi-ply wood panel and method of producing a core board
A method of producing a core board suitable for a coated multi-ply wood panel, as well as a coated multi-ply wood panel. The method comprises the steps of providing a wood based material in the form of a plurality of layers and an adhesive suitable for bonding the layers to each other; the layers of the wood based material and the adhesive being arranged in alternating order to form a stack, the stack having two opposite faces formed by a wood based layer. On at least one of the faces of the stack there is further provided adhesive and fibrillated fibers to form a modified stack which is pressed by one-step pressing to form a multi-ply wood panel having a facing coated with a layer of fibrillated fibers. The even and smooth surface of the core panel makes it particular suitable for coating with, e.g., glossy films.
Method of making a laminated wood product
A laminated wood product comprising providing a plank presenting a pair of parallel major surfaces, a pair of minor surfaces, a pair of end surfaces and a longitudinal direction parallel with said major and minor surfaces and perpendicular to the end surfaces, said plank having a water content of more than 25% by weight, preferably more than 30% by weight. At least one of the major surfaces is laminated to a surface of a second member.
Engineered Timber Panel For Structural Use And Method Of Formation Thereof
A method of manufacturing a structural panel for building construction, comprising: subjecting timber feedstock to machine stress grading wherein individual timber sticks that satisfy the grading criteria are allocated a stress grade for structural use; selecting from the timber sticks that fail to satisfy the machine stress grading standard criteria, laminas for forming a panel; arranging the selected timber laminas, without regard to visual defects, in side-by-side parallel formation; and fabricating a structural panel wherein the selected timber laminas are arranged side-by-side parallel to one another with adhesive applied between each adjacent stick incorporated into the panel.
SYSTEM FOR FILLING VOIDS IN GLUED-IN-ROD STRUCTURES
A glued-in-rod wooden structure includes a prepared hole for sealing voids which may be open to the prepared hole. In one example, the prepared hole is filled with an expanding foam which at least partially fills and seals the voids open to the prepared hole. Thereafter, the prepared hole may be enlarged by drilling to its final diameter for receiving the rod. Any voids in the enlarged hole remain sealed by the expanding foam.
Torsion box panel assembly with compact conveyance configuration
A torsion box panel assembly includes a plurality of sub-panels each having a skin secured to a core, and a plurality of hinges each coupled between a different pair of the sub-panels such that each sub-panel is foldable relative to an adjacent sub-panel along a respective hinge. The hingedly-coupled sub-panels together form a base panel having an expanded configuration in which each hinge is closed and the surfaces of the sub-panel skins are substantially co-planar. The base panel, in its expanded configuration, has a planar panel surface defined, at least in part, by the combination of the co-planar sub-panel skins. At least one stabilizing member is secured to the planar panel surface and spans all of the closed hinges to lock the sub-panels together to form a torsion box panel.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING AN ENGINEERED WOOD
The present invention relates to a method for producing an engineered wood, comprising the steps of: (a) breaking down a veneer to increase its porosity; (b) impregnating the veneer from step (a) with an adhesive material; (c) drying the veneer from step (b) to a predetermined moisture content level; (d) arranging a plurality of the veneers from step (c) in a mould; and (e) pressing the plurality of the veneers in the mould. The engineered wood has an appearance of natural timber, and is able to withstand extreme weather conditions and have minimum warping, rotting and termite infestation.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A WOOD PART CONNECTION AND DEVICE TO CARRY OUT THE PROCESS
The invention relates to a simple and safe method for manufacturing a wood part joint, in particular a cross-laminated timber for a house wall, from a plurality of individual layers which are laid as longitudinal layers (L) and transverse layers (Q) at an angle to one another and subsequently joined, preferably glued and pressed, at their mutually facing main surfaces. According to the invention, at least the boards of the longitudinal layer (L) are pre-fixed in their transverse direction using an elongate string element (2) at least in the end region, in particular using beading pressed into a groove. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for carrying out the method, wherein a feed for the elongate string element (2) is provided which can independently also be used for a wood part joint in which abutting, shorter pieces of wood are pre-fixed in the longitudinal direction to a board.
Method for the manufacture of a wet glued wood article
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a wet glued wood article, as well as a wet glued article obtainable by said method and also uses of a wet glued article, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a) providing two actively never-dried or slightly dried wood pieces comprising at least one surface each which has a superficial layer having a thickness of least 2-3 wood cells; b) drying said surfaces of said wood pieces so that the moisture content of said superficial layer is below the fibre saturation point, providing a dried surface on each of the said wood pieces; c) applying a gluing agent on said dried surface of one of the wood pieces, thus providing a glue surface; d) bringing the dried surfaces together so that said glue surface touches the dried surface on the other wood piece, thus providing a wet glued wood article.
