A method for producing a honeycomb structure according to the present invention includes: a preparation step of preparing a honeycomb structure element 2 having plurality of slits 12; and a filling step of filling the plurality of slits 12 with a filling material 13 by a contacting member 3 by feeding the filling material 13 to an outer peripheral surface 20 of the honeycomb structure element 2, and rotating the honeycomb structure element 2 while pressing a tip portion 3a of the contacting member 3 inclined at an angle relative to a normal line 20a of the outer peripheral surface 20 of the honeycomb structure element 2 against the outer peripheral surface 20 with a force, to obtain the honeycomb structure having the plurality of slits 12 filled with the filling material 13.
HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE BODY, HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE FILTER, AND EXTRUSION MOLDING DIE
Disclosed are a honeycomb structure body, a honeycomb structure filter and an extrusion molding die for a honeycomb structure body, which belong to the field of vehicle exhaust purification materials. The honeycomb structure body includes a honeycomb body and a skin layer around the honeycomb body, the honeycomb body including axially-extending channels defined by a porous wall, wherein a radial path of a radial section of the honeycomb body from a central axis to the skin layer consists of a porous wall inner section and a porous wall outer section in sequence, an average wall thickness of inner porous walls provided in the porous wall inner section is smaller than an average wall thickness of outer porous walls provided in the porous wall outer section, and a length of the porous wall inner section in the radial path accounts for 71%-95%. The arrangement of the specific structure of the honeycomb structure body of the present application not only increases the strength of the honeycomb structure body, but also ensures good thermal shock resistance and small back pressure of the honeycomb structure body; and the honeycomb structure body of the present application is prepared by integral molding, thereby achieving high production efficiency and low preparation cost.

A method for producing a honeycomb structure includes: a forming step of extruding a forming raw material containing a ceramic raw material to obtain a honeycomb formed body, the honeycomb formed body including: an outer peripheral wall; and partition walls disposed on an inner side of the outer peripheral wall, the partition walls defining a plurality of cells, each of the plurality of cells extending from one end face to the other end face to form a flow passage; a drying step of drying the honeycomb formed body to obtain a honeycomb dried body; and a firing step of firing the honeycomb dried body to obtain a honeycomb fired body. The forming step includes extruding the forming raw material to produce a honeycomb formed body in which a part of the partition walls is lost so that some of the cells are connected to each other.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CONDUCTIVE HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ELECTRICALLY HEATING SUPPORT
A method for producing a conductive honeycomb structure includes: a forming step of extruding a forming raw material to obtain a honeycomb formed body; a drying step of drying the honeycomb formed body to obtain a honeycomb dried body; and a firing step of firing the honeycomb dried body to obtain a honeycomb fired body. The forming step includes controlling a volume fraction of a portion that can form pores of the honeycomb formed body so that an absolute value of a difference in the volume fraction of the portion that can form the pores in predetermined regions of the honeycomb formed body relative to a previously set, predetermined porosity of the honeycomb fired body is within 0.5%. The predetermined porosity is a porosity preset for each of the predetermined regions of the honeycomb fired body.

An extrusion die (100) for a honeycomb body, the die (100) including: an input surface (102); an opposing output surface (104); feed holes (108) extending from the input surface (102) toward the output surface (104); discharge slots (106) having a slot width (SW) and a slot length (SL), and extending from the output surface (104) toward the input surface (102); and a plenum (130) fluidly connecting the feed holes (108) and the discharge slots (106). The plenum (130) may include chambers (132) connected to the feed holes (108) and including tapered outlets (134) connected to the discharge slots (106). The plenum (133) may include first chambers (132A) connected to the feed holes (108) and including first tapered outlets (134A), and second chambers (132B) connected to the first outlets and including second tapered outlets (134B) connected to the discharge slots (106).

Methods of manufacturing an extrusion die (100) having a plurality of pins (600a-c) and a plurality of slots (601) defined by the plurality of pins, each pin having a base, the method including applying a coating material (604) over side walls of the bases of the pins of the extrusion die and removing a portion of the coating material coated over the side walls of the bases of the plurality of pins with a cutting tool (650). In some embodiments, the cutting tool has a cutting width (652) equal to a target slot width (640) of the slots. In some embodiments, applying the coating material over the side walls of the bases of the pins includes overcoating a coating material to a thickness that is greater than a thickness needed to define a target slot width of the slots.

The method of extruding a ceramic-forming mixture through a honeycomb extrusion die (10) includes conditioning the honeycomb extrusion die (10) by extruding an abrasive flow media through the slots (20) of the die (10) prior to extruding the ceramic-forming mixture through the slots (20) of the die (10). The abrasive flow media includes abrasive inorganic particles dispersed in a flowable carrier. The ceramic-forming mixture includes one or more types of inorganic ceramic-forming particles. The abrasive inorganic particles in the flowable carrier have a particle size distribution that corresponds to that of at least one type of the ceramic-forming particles in the ceramic-forming mixture.
EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDED BODY
An extrusion molding machine includes: a molding portion having one end and other end, the one end having a die, the other end being connected to an extrusion port of an extrusion portion, the molding portion also including a screen arranged therein. The molding portion includes: at least one first temperature controlling member between the screen and the die, the first temperature controlling member including a plurality of first zones divided in a circumferential direction. Temperatures of the plurality of first zones can be individually controlled.

At least one transition structural component (140) is located radially inward from the tangential transition web (124) and includes a first inclined web (144) having a first end (144A) coupled to the first radial web (150) and a second inclined web (146) having a first end (146A) coupled to the second radial web (152).
