Shrinkable core for forming hollow precast load bearing wall panels
A shrinkable core (100) for inserting in a mold (200) for forming a precast load bearing wall panel having a cavity, the shrinkable core (100) comprises a first wall (110) and a second wall (120), a first side element (112) and a second side element (122), and a spacing element (130). The first wall (110) and second wall (120) are spaced from each other by a first distance (d1) to define an internal region (115) in-between. The first side element (112) and the second side element (122) are arranged to close opposite edge portions of the spaced first wall (110) and second wall (120) such that fluid concrete cannot pass the opposite edge portions to get into the internal region (115), the first side element (112) and second side element (122) being spaced by a second distance (d2). The spacing element (130) is configured to vary at least one of the first distance (d1) and the second distance (d2) such that a circumference along the first and second walls (110, 120) and the first and second side elements (112, 122) shrinks monotonically with lowering said at least one distance.
POWDER PRESS AND METHOD FOR POWDER-PRESSING A POWDER-PRESSED PART
The invention relates to a powder press for pressing a powder-pressed part, comprising at least one first punch, which, in a pressing position, is arranged to be immersible from a first side into a cavity of a die filled with ceramic or metal powder, as well as a centre pin with an external thread for forming an internal thread in the powder-pressed part, wherein during the pressing the centre pin is arranged in the cavity and, for demoulding of the pressed part, is moved translationally via a translatory drive and is rotated about its longitudinal axis via a rotary drive such that the centre pin is moved out of the formed internal thread of the pressed part.
Arthroscopic devices and methods
An arthroscopic or other surgical cutter has features which facilitate fabrication by ceramic molding. The arthroscopic cutter includes a cutter body having a longitudinal axis and a window, an interior channel, and a plurality of cutting edges extending radially outwardly from an outer surface thereof. The features include non-helical, longitudinally aligned cutting edges, controlled thicknesses of the cutting edges, controlled heights of the cutting edges, controlled areas of the windows, controlled diameters of the internal channels, controlled rake angles of the cutting edges, and other parameters.
Collapsible element pocket former
A pocket former may include a pocket former body, the pocket former body having an outer surface. The pocket former may further include a collapsible element, the collapsible element formed on the outer surface of the pocket former body. The collapsible element may extend radially outwardly from the pocket former body.
Acetabular reamer
An acetabular reamer of the type used in total hip arthroplasty (THA) to prepare a patient's acetabulum for implantation of a hip prosthesis is described. The acetabular reamer consists of a substantially hemispherical cup having a plurality of cutter-hole combinations aligned along one or more loxodromes on the surface of the hemispherical cup. The reamer, complete with integral back plate for connecting the reamer to a driver, is produced to net shape using a molding and sinterwelding technique.
Modified Pocket Former
A pocket former includes a pocket former body and a keyway former. The pocket former is adapted to form a void in a concrete member allowing access to the stressing end of a post-tensioning tendon. The keyway former is adapted to form a keyway in the concrete to allow grout to be more securely retained in the void.
Method of forming a post-tensioned concrete member utilizing a pocket former with keyway former
A pocket former includes a pocket former body and a keyway former. The pocket former is adapted to form a void in a concrete member allowing access to the stressing end of a post-tensioning tendon. The keyway former is adapted to form a keyway in the concrete to allow grout to be more securely retained in the void.
