TOOL DEVICE FOR A GROUND MILLING MACHINE AND GROUND MILLING MACHINE HAVING SUCH A TOOL DEVICE
The invention relates to a tool device for a ground milling machine, particularly a road milling machine, a recycler, a stabilizer or a surface miner. The tool device comprises a milling chisel with a highly wear-resistant chisel tip, particularly comprising PCD material, and a chisel shaft extending along a longitudinal axis, and a chisel holder with a shaft receptacle, the chisel shaft of the milling chisel having at least one tapering section narrowing in a direction away from the chisel tip. Furthermore, a fastening device is provided, which is designed in such a way that it pulls the milling chisel along its longitudinal axis and in the direction away from the chisel tip into the shaft receptacle, the shaft receptacle of the chisel holder being designed complementary to the chisel shaft of the milling chisel in such a way that the tapering section, when braced by the fastening device, bears against the chisel holder in the shaft receptacle in a frictionally locking manner shaft receptacle. The chisel holder also comprises a base holder and a quick-change chisel holder, the base holder comprising a holder receptacle for receiving the quick-change chisel holder, and the quick-change chisel holder comprising the shaft receptacle, and the fastening device being designed in such a way that it pulls both the milling chisel along its longitudinal axis and in the direction away from the chisel tip into the shaft receptacle as well as the quick-change chisel holder into the holder receptacle in the base holder. The invention also relates to a milling chisel and a quick-change chisel holder for such a tool device and a ground milling machine with such a tool device.
BORE WEAR COMPENSATING BIT HOLDER AND BIT HOLDER BLOCK
A bit assembly includes a base block and a bit holder having a forward body portion and a shank. The bit holder includes a diametrically expanding retainer circumferentially disposed around a shank of the bit holder adapted to maintain the interference contact between the bit holder and the base block as the diameter of a bore of the base block increases from use. The bit assembly also includes a sealing gasket that forms a force fit between a washer disposed about the shank of the bit holder and the base block.
Tool holder installation device and system
A tool holder insertion device includes a frame extending from a proximal end to a distal end, the frame including first and second longitudinal arms extending between the distal end and the proximal end. The frame also includes a distal transverse arm connected to respective distal ends of the first and second longitudinal arms, a proximal transverse arm opposite the distal transverse arm, and an internal space extending from the distal transverse arm, the internal space forming an insertion opening. The tool holder insertion device also includes a drive assembly fixed to the frame, the drive assembly including a pushing surface that is movable within the internal space toward the distal end of the frame.
ROTARY TOOL WITH THERMALLY STABLE DIAMOND
A tool for removing material includes a body, an ultrahard insert, and a matrix. The body has a forward portion, an opposing rear portion, and a longitudinal axis therebetween. The ultrahard insert includes an ultrahard material, and the ultrahard insert is mounted to and contacts the body proximate the forward portion. The matrix contacts the body and the ultrahard insert. The matrix is mechanically interlocked with the body and at least a portion of the matrix is positioned circumferentially around at least a portion of the forward portion of the body.
TAPERED CUTTER BIT AND MOUNTING BLOCK FOR THE SAME
A cutter bit adapted to be fixed onto a working surface of a rotating drum of a milling, planing, mining or reclaiming machine is provided. The body of the cutter bit is generally formed of a hardened steel, the cutting surface may be a diamond composition fixed in a step in the upper end of the cutter bit. The cutter bit includes a cutting surface, and the cutting surface may include non-parallel side edges and an upper cutting edge parallel to a lower edge. The lower edge may be any length sufficient to inhibit unintended angular displacement of the cutting surface during operation of the working surface. Alternatively or in addition, the cutting surface may be defined by three edges to allow the cutting surface to be removed and repositioned in at least a second orientation.
MATERIAL REMOVAL MANUFACTURE, ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
Milling-drumless products, systems, manufactures, and methods for removing material, such as concrete or asphalt, and a system and method of assembling material removal (for example, grinding and/or cutting) blade elements, or blade elements and spacers, to fabricate a configuration that eliminates a need for a large milling drum are provided. The method allows the configuration to be adjusted easily in a field situation to most any material removal width by exchanging, adding or subtracting blade elements and/or spacers.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COUNTING WORK MACHINE BIT REMOVAL
A method of removing cutting bits from a milling work machine includes engaging a cutting bit connected to a rotary drum of the machine with a bit removal tool, actuating the bit removal tool to disconnect the bit from the machine, sensing a plurality of characteristics of removing the bit from the machine, and determining that the bit has been disconnected from the machine based on the sensed characteristics.
Washers for Rotatable Cutting Tools
The present invention provides rotatable cutting tools having washers with changing thicknesses. One side of the washer has a tapered surface that increases the thickness of the washer from the inner radius towards the outer radius, resulting in a thicker portion at the outer edge of the washer. The rotatable cutting tool may also have a bit with a tapered surface. The tapered surface of the bit may be structured and arranged to engage with the tapered surface of the washer. The rotatable cutting tool may also include a holder such that the assembled rotatable cutting tool includes the washer between the bit and the holder with the bit inserted into the holder and washer.
Hammerless cutting bit retention system
A cutting bit includes a rear adapter portion having a body of revolution, an outer circumferential surface, and a first retention nub extending from the outer circumferential surface. The cutting bit also includes a forward portion, and an intermediate collar portion that is disposed between the rear adapter portion, and the forward portion.
