METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A THERMOPLASTIC GRANULATE MATERIAL

In the production of thermoplastic granulate material, after mixing the starting materials, it is common in the state of the art for these materials to be kneaded and compressed in extruders, with subsequent granulation. According to the invention, no extruder is used, rather the starting materials for the thermoplastic granulate material are supplied directly to a double belt press after the mixing. Subsequently, the generated web-type to sheet-type body is processed into a granulate material by means of grinding, or is used as a web-type, sheet-type, strip-type or film-type intermediate product for the production of a further intermediate product or end products.

Process for dispersing particles in filled resin compositions

An improved process for dispersing filler particles in a resin composition is disclosed. The filler particles, for instance electrically conductive or metal particles, are mixed with a resin material or blend of materials including a resin material to form a mixture that is subjected to an acceleration force. The acceleration force can be generated by passing the mixture through a static nozzle having particular dimensions to generate an acceleration of the mixture in the nozzle in excess of 400,000 m/sec.sup.2. The treated particles become uniformly dispersed in the resin composition and a reduction in average particle size of the filler material can be achieved.

Dispersion method for particles in nanocomposites and method of forming nanocomposites

A method of manufacturing a nanocomposite includes exposing dry nanoparticles to a dry, solid matrix material or pellets in a container to form a combination which is then agitated by rotating about an axis transverse to a direction of gravity, at room temperature and without grinding objects, to cause a tumbling action between the pellets and the nanoparticles to thereby evenly disperse and coat the nanoparticles directly on outer surfaces of the pellets which remain in a solid phase and of the same size throughout rotating. The method also includes processing the resulting combination, particularly polypropylene pellets and carbon black nanoparticles, by heating to form a viscous combination which is then drawn to form a nanocomposite fiber having carbon black nanoparticles dispersed evenly throughout the polypropylene, with a resulting fiber having a diameter of 30 m-100 m and tensile strength of 300-1500% greater than a similar polypropylene fiber produced without the nanoparticles.

Preparation Method For Air-Permeable And Antibacterial Silicone Rubber Material And Application Thereof In Home Textiles
20250059371 · 2025-02-20 ·

The present disclosure relates to the technical field of silicone rubbers, and discloses a preparation method for an air-permeable and antibacterial silicone rubber material and an application thereof in home textiles. Activated silicone rubber and double quaternary ammonium salt-type benzoic acid are subjected to an esterification reaction under the catalysis of p-toluenesulfonic acid to obtain double quaternary ammonium salt-grafted silicone rubber. The double quaternary ammonium salt-grafted silicone rubber is blended with silicone rubber and then applied to home textiles, wherein the quaternary ammonium salt component can destroy cellular enzymes in bacteria and has an antibacterial effect, and the silicon-oxygen-silicon in the silicone rubber not only has excellent air permeability, but also has excellent mechanical properties. Finally, the home textile material with excellent antibacterial properties, air permeability and mechanical properties is obtained.

Method of manufacturing a self-sealing composition

A self-sealing elastomer composition that includes a diene elastomer, a hydrocarbon resin with a given softening temperature, and a liquid plasticizing agent, is manufactured according to a process that includes successive stages. In one stage, the hydrocarbon resin is incorporated in the diene elastomer by kneading the resin and the elastomer in a mixer at or up to a temperature referred to as hot compounding temperature, which is greater than the softening temperature of the resin, in order to obtain a masterbatch. In another stage, the liquid plasticizing agent is incorporated in the masterbatch by kneading the agent and the masterbatch in the same mixer or in another mixer, in order to obtain the self-sealing composition. The self-sealing composition then is formed dimensionally.
