Apparatus for mixing materials dissolved in a high-pressure working fluid
The present invention relates to a mixing apparatus. A production unit produces a working fluid that is in a supercritical state or a subcritical state. A storage unit stores a material. A dissolving unit dissolves the material in the working fluid. A mixer mixes the material together in the presence of the working fluid. A material feed valve opens or closes a flow passage through which the material is to pass to be fed from the storage unit into the dissolving unit. A working fluid inflow valve opens or closes a flow passage through which the working fluid is to pass to flow into the dissolving unit from the production unit. A mixer inflow valve opens or closes a flow passage through which the working fluid and the material are to pass to flow into the mixer from the dissolving unit.
Bulked continuous carpet filament manufacturing from polytrimethylene terephthalate
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament from polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) comprises: (1) splitting the PTT stream extruded from the primary extruder into a number of polymer streams, each of the plurality of polymer streams having an associated spinning machine; (2) adding a colorant to each split polymer stream; (3) adding PET to the extruded polymer stream downstream of the primary extruder; (4) using one or more static mixing assemblies for each split polymer stream to substantially uniformly mix each split polymer stream and its respective colorant and PET; and (5) spinning each polymer stream with its substantially uniformly mixed colorant and any additives into BCF using the respective spinning machine.
BULKED CONTINUOUS CARPET FILAMENT MANUFACTURING FROM POLYTRIMETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament from a plurality of polymer flakes comprises: (1) providing an extruder; (2) melting and purifying the plurality of polymer flakes into a polymer stream using the extruder; (3) providing a static mixing assembly downstream of the extruder; (4) adding a first liquid colorant to a center of the polymer stream at a first location before the static mixing assembly or along a length of the static mixing assembly; (5) adding a second liquid colorant to the polymer stream at a second location before the static mixing assembly or along a length of the static mixing assembly; (6) using the static mixing assembly to mix the polymer stream with the first and second liquid colorant to create a colored polymer stream; and (7) forming the colored polymer stream into bulked continuous carpet filament.
MULTI-COMPONENT MIXING AND METERING EQUIPMENT WITH ONLINE STOICHIOMETRY CONTROL
The invention describes an advanced mixing and metering technology with online analytics for a supply of formulated liquid thermosetting resins into an open or closed mold. The application addresses where a precise control of the composition of formulated components is required. Composite structures used in primary and secondary structural aerospace applications manufactured in Infusion or RTM processes are possible examples.
METHOD OF INJECTING POLYURETHANE IN PRE-INSULATED PIPES AT THE POINTS OF JOINING WITH FITTINGS
The invention relates to a method of injecting polyurethane, where the contents of two cylinders (2) of polyol and isocyanate are mixed in a static mixer (3). The mixed amount of polyurethane is injected with a gun (1) into a hole and at the appropriate points for joining the fittings. The injection can be done in horizontal hanging lines that run through the roof, in vertical columns, but also in any other case as judged by the applying person.
Device for preparing and applying adhesive
The invention relates to a device for preparing and applying adhesive, comprising a feed unit, a preparing unit, and an application unit, wherein the feed unit is used to feed a basic component of the adhesive and/or of at least one additive, wherein the preparing unit effects continuous mixing of the basic component of the adhesive with the one or more fed additives to form the prepared adhesive and continuous conveying of the prepared adhesive, wherein the adhesive prepared in such a way is conveyed from the preparing unit into the application unit and can be applied to a workpiece by the application unit.
