Silicone extrusion plant, method for silicone extrusion and silicone extrudate produced herewith
A silicone extrusion plant has a silicone extruder and a silicone feed device configured to load the silicone extruder. The silicone feed device has a feed hopper. The feed hopper opens into a feed opening at the bottom thereof. The feed opening is in a fluidic connection, via a feed duct, with an inlet zone of the silicone extruder. A feed screw arranged in the feed hopper in such a way as to be drivable for rotation protrudes into the feed opening at least partly. The feed screw has a cone portion and a cylinder portion. According to another aspect, the silicone extrusion plant has at least one feed pressure sensor configured to measure an actual feed pressure of silicone material to be extruded. A control unit is in a signal communication with the feed pressure sensor and a feed drive device in order to drive the silicone feed device.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYMERS IN WHICH FILLERS ARE INCORPORATED AND HOMOGENEOUSLY DISTRIBUTED
For the production of polymers in which there are fillers with particle sizes below 10 μm incorporated and homogeneously distributed, a polymer starting material is input into a twin-screw extruder and is melted there to give a melt. In a conveying and mixing section, a suspension, which is formed of the fillers and of a carrier liquid, is injected into the melt. The melt viscosity is reduced by injection of the carrier liquid in the conveying and mixing section in that a cleavable polycondensate is used as polymer and low-molecular-weight cleavage product arising during the polycondensation is used as carrier liquid, and therefore the molten polymer is at least to some extent depolymerized within the conveying and mixing section. That the mixture, which is formed of the melt whose viscosity is reduced by cleavage, of the remainder of the carrier liquid and of the fillers, is homogenized.

Mixing device with adjustment device for gap setting
A mixing device includes a first feed opening for a first liquid—preferably gas-laden—plastics component, a second feed opening for a second liquid plastics component, and a discharge opening for discharging a mixture of the first and the second liquid plastics component. The mixing device has a rotating agitator for mixing the first and second liquid plastics components, and a gap remains between the agitator and the discharge opening. An adjustment device is provided which either varies the gap by a relative movement between the discharge opening and the agitator, or varies the size of the discharge opening. A regulating device is connected in signal-transmitting fashion to a sensor for determining a pressure prevailing in the mixing device. The regulating device sets the gap, or the size of the discharge opening, by the adjustment device such that the pressure prevailing in the mixing device has a predetermined value.

KNEADING METHOD FOR FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN, PLASTICIZING DEVICE, AND EXTRUDING MACHINE
The present invention provides a kneading method for a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin with which dispersibility of reinforcement fibers is enhanced and sufficient reinforcement fibers having a proper fiber length remain, and a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin plasticizing device and an extruding machine for carrying out the method. The kneading method comprises supplying a thermoplastic resin and reinforcement fibers into a cylinder of a plasticizing device, and rotating a screw to obtain a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin, wherein the size of a clearance between the bore of the cylinder and the screw is made different between an upstream side in the vicinity of a reinforcement fiber loading port and a downstream side, so that the clearance becomes larger from the vicinity of the reinforcement fiber loading port toward the downstream side compared with the upstream side.
SCREW-TYPE EXTRUDER
A screw extruder for extruding a kneaded material, includes: a pair of screws; a casing that houses the pair of screws and includes a supply port; and a roller-die. Each of the screws includes a shaft portion, and a spiral flight portion. The flight portion is formed into a shape in which a radial distance between the surface of the shaft portion and a tip of the flight portion decreases gradually toward a downstream end in an extrusion direction of a kneaded material. The casing has a tapered shape. Within a range between a downstream end of the supply port and a downstream end of the flight portion, a clearance between a top portion of the flight portion and an inner wall surface of the casing at the downstream end of the supply port is larger than a clearance at any other part.
