KNEADING DEVICE

Provided is a kneading device that can check a progress of wear of an inner wall face of a kneading chamber provided in a casing without stopping the kneading device. A kneading device includes a sensor-mount space provided in a wall of a casing, a wear detecting sensor of which a detecting section is disposed at a bottom of the sensor-mount space, and a controller that receives a signal output from the wear detecting sensor, the controller including a wear determining unit that determines that wear of an inner wall face of a kneading chamber has progressed based on a change in the signal.

TWIN-SCREW EXTRUDER

An introduction port 3 is provided on the rear side of a casing 2, and a discharge port 4 is provided at the tip of the casing 2, Inside the casing 2, two screws 7 are arranged so that a center distance thereof gradually decreases from the introduction port 3 to the discharge port 4, In a rear end wall 11, a drainage port 10 that discharges water produced from a material out of the casing 2 is provided. The drainage port 10 is provided at a position higher than the lowermost end of the rear end wall 11.

Method for producing golf ball

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for obtaining a golf ball having excellent impact durability. The present invention provides a method for producing a golf ball, comprising a first step of kneading (a) a base rubber, (b) an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and/or a metal salt thereof as a co-crosslinking agent, (c) a crosslinkable compound having two or more polymerizable unsaturated bonds in a molecule thereof, and (d) a crosslinking initiator to prepare a core rubber composition; a second step of producing the spherical core from the core rubber composition at a molding temperature in a range from 100° C. to 150° C.; and a third step of molding the at least one cover layer covering the spherical core on the spherical core.

Extruder system

An improved extruder apparatus is disclosed and which includes a cylindrical barrel having a feed end and a discharge end, the feed end having an inlet in fluid communication with a hopper. The extruder screw is mounted in the cylindrical barrel, and the screw has an outer surface having one or more helical flights mounted thereon, wherein the inlet end of the cylindrical barrel has a support frame mounted thereto, wherein an upper surface of the support frame is connected to a throat of a hopper, wherein an insert is mounted to the support frame and has a lower end which extends down into the cylindrical barrel, wherein the insert has an internal passageway having a first opening on the lower end and a second opening upstream of the screw for relieving the pressure.

System and method for continuously manufacturing cured membranes

A method of continuously manufacturing a cured membrane includes continuously compounding and mixing a vulcanizable rubber composition in a mixing extruder while continuously removing gasses from the vulcanizable rubber composition during mixing with a vacuum. The vulcanizable rubber composition may be continuously extruded to form an extrudate, which may be continuously calendered to form a green membrane. The green membrane may be continuously cured, such as by a hot air conveyor curing system, to form a cured membrane.

PRODUCTION OF RUBBER MIXTURES IN A RUBBER MIXTURE PRODUCTION LINE INCORPORATING ONE OR MORE TWIN-SCREW MIXING AND EXTRUSION MACHINES

A production line (100) has an internal mixer (MI); at least one hot mixing line (102) disposed downstream of the internal mixer and including at least one twin-screw mixing machine (B.sub.Xc) that performs a process of mixing the rubber mixture exiting the internal mixer; at least one cold mixing line (104) disposed downstream of the hot mixing line and including at least one twin-screw mixing machine (B.sub.XF) that performs a process of mixing the rubber mixture exiting the hot mixing line; a batch-off installation (BO) disposed downstream of the cold mixing line that performs an anti-sticking and cooling process of the rubber mixture exiting the cold mixing line; and an end-of-line installation (FL) disposed downstream of the batch-off installation that performs one or more end-of-line processes of the rubber mixture.

Process for making shaped articles

Methods of making an environmentally acceptable shaped article. In an embodiment method comprises machining a sheet comprising crumb rubber within a polyolefin matrix into a plurality of particles to form a reground mixture; and processing the reground mixture at an elevated temperature into a mold to form said shaped article, wherein the shaped article has a substantially more evenly dispersed mixture of said crumb rubber within the matrix of said shaped article than within the matrix of said sheet or the particles of the reground mixture.

Process and apparatus to make liquid silicone rubber compositions

Provided are an assembly and process for the continuous or semi-continuous preparation of addition-crosslinking liquid silicone rubbers and to liquid silicone rubber compositions made therefrom. Also disclosed are articles made from the liquid silicone rubber compositions.

METHODS OF PREPARING A COMPOSITE HAVING ELASTOMER AND FILLER

Disclosed herein are methods of preparing composites from solid elastomer(s) and wet filler(s), as well as products, including composites, vulcanizates, and articles therefrom. The wet filler can have a liquid content of at least 15%. A resulting composite comprises the filler dispersed in the elastomer at a loading of at least 20 phr with a filler yield loss of no more than 10%, wherein the composite has a liquid content of no more than 10% by weight based on total weight of said composite.

Guayule latex extrusion

A latex processing system and method involves mixing a latex and at least one solvent blend in an extruder, in order to remove resin found in the latex and to coagulate the latex to form a coagulum. The at least one solvent blend has a first solvent configured to coagulate the latex, and a second solvent configured to swell the resulting coagulum. In particular, a series of the solvent blends may be used at different locations along a length of the extruder, and may further include distinct blends of the first solvent and the second solvent, introduced at the different locations, and having different ratios of the first solvent and the second solvent.
