One aspect of the present invention is a method for producing an ethylene vinyl acetate hot-melt adhesive, comprising: introducing a liquid including at least one of water and alcohol into a heating kneader while or after kneading a hot-melt adhesive material in a liquid state, at an amount of 0.05 parts by mass or more with respect to 100 parts by mass of the hot-melt adhesive material; and performing vacuuming while heating stirring or dispersing the hot-melt adhesive material and the liquid so as to come into contact with each other.
EXTRUDER FOR THE VISCOSITY-INCREASING PREPARATION OF MELTABLE POLYMERS
An extruder comprising a housing having an inner recess; in which an extruder screw having a helical extruder screw flight is rotatably mounted. The outer diameter of the extruder screw is subdivided into a diameter start region, diameter central region, and diameter end region, wherein the diameter central region has a larger outer diameter than the other diameter regions, and a conical transition is formed in each case between regions at different diameters, and wherein at least one degassing zone formed in the diameter central region said degassing zone having a housing recess from which at least one suction opening extends to an outer side of the housing. The flow channel formed between the extruder screw shaft core and the inner wall of the housing recess is an annular expansion nozzle, wherein the outer diameter of the extruder screw flight is constant and the radial flow channel height increases.
EXTRUDER FOR THE VISCOSITY-INCREASING PROCESSING OF MELTABLE POLYMERS
An extruder for the viscosity-increasing preparation of meltable polymers, wherein an extruder screw with at least one helical extruder screw flight is positioned in a housing having an inner housing recess. A diameter central region has a larger outer diameter than at least one of the other diameter regions, and a conical transition is formed in each case between regions of different diameters. Two degassing zones are provided in the diameter central region, each of which has at least one associated suction opening in the housing, one degassing zone being designed in the region of the satellite screws and an additional degassing zone being designed upstream thereof in the flow direction. The thread depth of the screw threads, formed between the extruder screw flights is greater in both degassing zones than in at least one sealing and compression section formed therebetween.
Method and facility for producing polylactide (PLA) from a lactide mixture by means of polymerization
A method and a facility produce polylactide (PLA) by polymerization, in which a lactide mixture is mixed with at least one catalyst, is introduced into a modular planetary roller extruder and the finished PLA is then removed. The lactide mixture continuously passes through segments of the extruder. The course of the reaction is measured and controlled in the segments in a targeted manner such that the temperature can be set by heating and/or cooling. The pressure can be variably set depending on pressure values to be checked by a controllable gas extraction and/or a controllable extruder speed and/or static variability of the planetary rollers and/or a variable metering speed of the lactide mixture and/or a variable mixing ratio of the lactide mixture. Flammable gas is removed in an explosion-protected zone in a partial region of the extruder. Additives are introduced into the extruder during the rolling process.
Method of producing a bioplastic granulate based on sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material on the one hand and a plastic material on the other hand
A method of producing a bioplastic granulate on the basis of sunflower seed shells or sunflower seed hulls. In the method, ground sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material is provided, wherein the particle size is in the region of 3 mm or less, preferably in the region of 0.01 to 1 mm, preferably in the region of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. A plastic material is provided, which is compounded with the sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material, wherein the compounding operation is preferably effected in an extruder, preferably a double-screw extruder. The compounded material is chopped at the end of the extruder section with a tool with the addition of water, wherein the water is at a temperature of preferably more than 50° C., preferably about 80 to 90° C., to cool down the compound material. During the compounding operation, the compounding material is subjected to atmospheric degassing and/or vacuum degassing.
Discontinuous-fiber composites and methods of making the same
The invention relates to compositions comprising composite materials comprised of discontinuous fibers and one or more polymers and/or oligomers. The invention relates to methods of making the same. The composite materials can be in the form of compositions, composite sheets, laminates, pellets, and/or shaped composite products.
Method for producing thermally crosslinkable polymers in a planetary roller extruder
A method for producing thermally crosslinkable polymers in a planetary roller extruder is presented. The planetary roller extruder has a filling part and a compounding part made of a roller cylinder region that comprises at least two, preferably at least three coupled roller cylinders, planetary spindles of which are driven by a common central spindle. The polymers are supplied in a plasticized state. The filling part is supplied with a vacuum. The flow temperatures of the central spindle and the at least two roller cylinders under a vacuum are set such that the polymers to be degassed remain in the plasticized state. One or more liquids, such as thermal crosslinkers, crosslinking accelerators, dye solutions, or dye dispersions, are metered to the plasticized polymers downstream of the vacuum degassing, preferably in a continuous manner. Finally, the resulting mixture is directly supplied to a coating assembly.
Agitation/defoaming apparatus and method and rotary motion transmission device
An agitation/defoaming device is provided, which can independently control revolving and rotational motion and can change a rotational direction relative to a revolving direction without a two-system rotary drive. The apparatus includes a rotary driving source, a braking device for rotary motions; first and second rotors revolved around revolving shaft, and first and second rotational bodies and container holders pivotally supported by the first rotor. A braking force is applied to the second rotor revolving along with the first rotor, generating a rotational motion, which is transmitted to either the first or second rotational body according to the revolving direction of the first rotor. The rotational motion is then transmitted from the first or second rotational body to the container holder through the first rotational body, thereby transmitting to the object the rotational motion according to the revolving direction while revolving the object.

A kneading method includes conveying a raw material along a conveyance path; and increasing the raw material in pressure by restricting a conveyer from conveying the raw material by a barrier, causing the raw material with an increased pressure to flow into a passage from an inlet located at the conveyer, circulating the raw material having flowed into the passage to an outlet in the same direction as the conveying direction of the conveyer, and causing the raw material having circulated in the passage to flow out from the outlet to the outer circumference of a screw body. The raw material includes a polypropylene-based resin composition containing polypropylene and olefin rubber.
