A method of extruding a melt of a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) without surface melt fracture, the method comprises heating a melt of the LLDPE to a temperature from 190.0 to 260.0 degrees Celsius; and extruding through a die the heated melt at a shear rate of from 1,100 to 7,000 per second and at a shear stress of greater than 0.40 megapascal, thereby forming a polyethylene extrudate without surface melt fracture.
MOLDED ARTICLE OF COMPOSITE RESIN CONTAINING FIBERS
A molded article of a composite resin containing fibers includes a base resin 1 and a fibrous filler 2 having fibrillated ends in a fiber length direction. An expression Ho × 0.4 ≤ H ≤ Ho is satisfied where H is a maximum height for an unbroken first plate-like test piece having a thickness of 1 to 2 mm after the test piece is kept at -10° C. for three hours and then is hit by a dropped weight of 250 g; and Ho is as same maximum height for the unbroken second plate-like test piece only made of the base resin with a thickness of 1 to 2 mm as for the first plate-like test piece. An expression So × 0.4 ≤ s ≤ So is satisfied where S is a Charpy impact strength (JIS K 7111) of the molded article, and So is a Charpy impact strength of the molded article only made of the base resin.
CONVERTING NON-BIODEGRADABLE POLYMERIC GRANULES AND COMPONENTS TO BIODEGRADABLE BY SURFACE COATING
The present invention describes a process to convert non-biodegradable polymeric raw materials or pellets/granules into biodegradable raw materials/pellets/granules by applying enzyme-based coating, in water or suitable solvent or combination thereof, on their surfaces, before construction of the components from them.
Method for preparing graphene/nylon-6 fiber
A high-strength high-modulus graphene/nylon-6 fiber and a preparation method thereof are provided. The fiber is obtained through processing modified graphene and caprolactam with in situ polymerization and high-speed melt spinning. A graphene/nylon-6 composite is provided, which is obtained through compositing the modified graphene, the caprolactam and an additive. Based on the composite, a graphene/nylon-6 fabric with a permanent far-infrared healthcare function and a graphene/nylon-6 fabric with an ultraviolet protective property are provided, whose far-infrared property and ultraviolet protective property will not be attenuated due to an increase of fabric washing times, having a great market potential.
PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING BIODEGRADABLE PET CHIPS
The present invention describes a process of manufacturing biodegradable PET chips, comprising the steps of providing a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in a predetermined quantity in a slurry tank; providing virgin monoethylene glycol (MEG) in a predetermined quantity in the slurry tank; transferring the combination of the slurry tank to an esterification reactor for esterification of the combination in the reactor at above 250° C. temperature which releases monomers; transferring the monomers from the esterification reactor to a polymerisation reactor; providing poly-catalysts such as, but not limited, to Ti-based catalyst, sb2O3 or any other suitable catalysts or combination thereof into the polymerisation reactor; and polymerization of the monomers in the polymerisation reactor at above 280° C. temperature, wherein an enzyme based composition is provided either at PTA/MEG stage or poly-catalyst stage or at other stages or combination thereof.
