PARTICULATE PLASTIC SOLIDS HANDLING APPARATUS AND METHODS
Facilities and systems for handling of particulate plastic solids obtained from a mixed waste plastic separation system are provided. The facilities comprise at least one enclosed structure and an elongate overhead conveyor associated with the at least one enclosed structure that is configured to selectively deposit the particulate plastic solids into a plastic solids transport system that interconnects the handling facility and a plastic chemical recycling facility and/or at least one inventory pile within the at least one enclosed structure.
PARTIALLY REVERSIBLE THERMOSETS USEFUL FOR RECYCLING
Provided herein is a method of recycling reactive prepolymers from additively manufactured articles or recovered coating material that comprises a crosslinked polymer formed from a single-cure resin comprising a reactive blocked prepolymer and a crosslinker, by forming and recovering a regenerated reactive prepolymer. Light-polymerizable resins, methods of making recyclable objects from such resins, and methods for sustainable manufacturing are also provided.
Plastic parts made from plastics having different melting points and a method of manufacturing same
A method of recycling a mixed plastic waste comprising plastics having different melting temperatures includes conveying the mixed plastic waste through an extruder such that at least some of the higher melting point plastic is passes through the extruder without melting and is present in the extrudate as solid material.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A RECYCLED RUBBER-BASED ELASTOMER
Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to a process involving phase reticulation induced sulfidic metathesis. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds, assisted by exposure to a pulsed magnetic field. The resulting rubber, subjected to interlinked substitution, exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, or other polymeric materials, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.
Compositions and Methods for the Recycling of a Mixed Plastic Feedstock
Compositions and processes for the tertiary recycling of mixed plastic waste into a stable and homogeneous plastic feedstock material are provided. The processes and compositions allow for the tertiary recycling of unsorted, unwashed and unidentified mixed plastic waste, including waste mixtures comprising polymer macromolecules with different molecular weights and polymer chain lengths. The processes include the blending of a mixed plastic waste feedstock with a recycling composition and virgin carrier materials comprising at least one alluvium material.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DE-VULCANISATION OF RUBBER
The invention provides an apparatus for de-vulcanisation of rubber from a rubber component, preferably a rubber tire. The apparatus comprises a cleaning device configured to clean and/or sanitize the rubber and a mixing device having at least one rotor configured to de-vulcanise the cleaned and/or sanitized rubber.
PLASTIC BLENDING METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND APPPARATUS FOR EFFICIENTLY REDUCING CARBON FOOTPRINTS IN REFINING SYSTEMS AND PETROCHEMICAL PROCESSING SYSTEMS
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods, systems, and apparatus for efficiently reducing carbon footprints in refining systems and petrochemical processing systems. In one aspect, a plastic powder feedstock is blended into a feedstock of a processing system to re-use plastic and reduce carbon footprints. In one implementation, a method of blending plastics into a processing system includes pulverizing a plastic supply to a plastic stock having a granule size that is within a range of 7 nanometers to 10 nanometers. The method includes separating the plastic stock to remove a portion having a granule size that is outside of the range of 7 nanometers to 10 nanometers and generate a plastic feedstock. The method includes blending the plastic feedstock into a feedstock of the processing system to generate a blended feedstock, and processing the blended feedstock.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A WIND TURBINE BLADE FOR RECYCLING
The present disclosure relates to a method for preparing a wind turbine blade for recycling by sectioning the wind turbine into at least a first and a second wind turbine blade part comprising different types of materials or comprising the same type of materials in a different relative content.
Filled polymeric resin materials and methods of making
The present disclosure provides for articles formed of a filled polymeric resin material. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to polymeric resin materials that include a filler that includes of a mixture of cured rubber granules, foam granules, and/or textile fibers. The filler can be suspended in and/or encapsulated by the polymeric resin material. The polymeric resin material, the filler, or both can include waste or scrap material from manufacturing or from ground post-consumer waste.
RECYCLED COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND RELATED METHODS
Methods of producing particles of fiber and resin from fiber-resin composite materials are disclosed. The particles may be combined with a resin system and optionally combined with fillers, binders or reinforcements to produce new cured solid composite products.
