20220009130 · 2022-01-13 ·

The present invention refers to the to the reuse of waste materials based on synthetic resins and, more specifically refers to the reuse of disposable diapers, plastic packaging (PVC, PP, PET, and so on), for the production of raw material for extrusion, lamination, injection and rotational molding processes, among others. The invention consists of a system comprising a chopper, a mill for homogenization of particle size, a disk compactor employing frictional heating between a fixed disk and a rotating disk and cooling means by circulation of cold water inside said discs.

Recyclable aerosol dispensers

A polymeric aerosol dispenser that is recyclable. The recyclable polymeric aerosol dispenser including all polymeric components. These components being selectively either fixedly joined or separably joined based on the material composition of the component. Further, components may be selected for their density and, thus, their ability to float or sink during the recycling process. The recyclable polymeric aerosol dispenser is designed to minimize its impact on the PET recycling stream and to align with industry recyclability guidelines.

EXTRUDER AND MOLDING ASSEMBLY
20230321873 · 2023-10-12 ·

A method of filling a mold comprising filling a majority of a mold cavity with an extrudate from at least one extruder wherein the extrudate, which is conveyed to an inlet of the mold, is at a pressure of 1-500 psi, subsequently isolating the mold cavity from a conduit which conveys the extrudate to the mold cavity, and subsequently using a pressurization member to fill a remainder of the mold cavity with additional extrudate, wherein the pressurization member excepts a pressure above 500 psi on the additional extrudate.

A GRANULAR INFILL MATERIAL AND A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE GRANULAR INFILL MATERIAL
20230294331 · 2023-09-21 ·

A disclosed process for producing granular infill material for a synthetic turf surface includes providing scraps of a composite material comprising a textile support. A coating of the textile support includes a polymeric material. A weight percentage of the textile support is greater than or equal to 5% of a total weight of the composite material. The production process includes grinding the scraps to obtain scrap pieces, preparing a mixture comprising the scrap pieces, and heating the mixture to obtain a blend comprising the polymeric material in a softened state and pieces of the textile support dispersed in the polymeric matrix. A plurality of solid granules may be obtained from the blend to make the granular infill material. Each granule includes a polymeric matrix including the polymeric materials and a reinforcing filler dispersed in the polymeric matrix. The reinforcing filler may include pieces of the textile support.

Processes for recycling polystyrene waste
11407878 · 2022-08-09 · ·

There are provided recycled polystyrene polymers having a melt flow index of less than about 25 g/10 min. There are provided processes for recycling polystyrene waste. The processes can comprise dissolving said polystyrene waste in p-cymene under conditions to obtain a polystyrene/p-cymene mixture, adding the polystyrene/p-cymene mixture to a hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent under conditions to obtain precipitated polystyrene and washing the precipitated polystyrene with additional portions of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent under conditions to obtain twice-washed polystyrene. The twice-washed polystyrene can optionally be dried and formed into polystyrene pellets. There is also provided recycled polystyrene obtained from such processes for recycling polystyrene waste.
