Composite tubing and method for making and using same
A composite tube includes an inner layer including a silicone polymer, wherein the inner layer has a surface that defines a central lumen of the composite tube; an adhesive layer adjacent to the inner layer, wherein the adhesive layer includes an adhesive silicone material including a silicone polymer and an adhesion promoter, and an outer layer adjacent to the adhesive layer, wherein the outer layer includes a thermoplastic polymer having a functional group that forms a chemical bond with the adhesion promoter of the adhesive silicone material.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Systems for additive manufacturing comprise a delivery guide configured to dispense a curable material to additively manufacture a part in sequential layers of the curable material, and a source of curing energy configured to direct the curing energy to a discrete region of the curable material forward of or at a location where a subsequent layer of the curable material is dispensed from the delivery guide against a preceding layer of the curable material to cure together the subsequent layer and the preceding layer. Methods of additively manufacturing comprise dispensing a subsequent layer of a curable material against a preceding layer of the curable material, and concurrently with the dispensing, directing curing energy to a discrete region of the curable material to cure together the subsequent layer and the preceding layer.
Electron beam curable resin composition, resin frame for reflectors, reflector, semiconductor light emitting device, and method for producing molded body
Provided are an electron beam curable resin composition including polymethylpentene, and a crosslinking agent, in which the crosslinking agent has a saturated or unsaturated ring structure, at least one atom among atoms forming at least one ring is bonded to any allylic substituent of an allyl group, a methallyl group, an allyl group through a linking group, and a methallyl group through a linking group, and a molecular weight is 1,000 or less, a resin frame for reflectors using the resin composition, a reflector, and a molding method using the resin composition.
SURFACE FEATURE TRANSFER MEDIA AND METHODS OF USE
Forming features in the surface of a bicycle component involves depositing a substance onto a substrate in a geometric pattern to form a transfer medium. Forming features may also involve positioning the transfer medium relative to an unformed bicycle component, and forming a negative of the geometric pattern in the bicycle component through the application of heat and/or pressure to the transfer medium and the unformed bicycle component. The transfer medium may be configured for use in the molding of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) bicycle components and may include a substrate formed of a flexible material, and a geometric pattern formed of a hard material, the hard material different than the flexible material.
THERMOPLASTIC FLUORORESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CROSS-LINKED BODY
Provided are a thermoplastic fluororesin composition including a thermoplastic fluororesin (A) having a Shore D hardness of less than or equal to 50, the Shore D hardness being measured at 23 C. in accordance with ASTM D2240, and a cross-linked structure forming agent (B) that is selected from the group consisting of a polyfunctional unsaturated compound (b-1), a polyamine compound (b-2), and a polyhydroxy compound (b-3) and that is capable of forming a cross-linked structure through a reaction with the thermoplastic fluororesin (A), the thermoplastic fluororesin composition not substantially containing a peroxide compound when containing the (b-1), not substantially containing an acid acceptor when containing the (b-2), and not substantially containing at least one of the acid acceptor and an onium compound when containing the (b-3); and a method for producing a cross-linked body including a step of cross-linking the thermoplastic fluororesin composition by an ionizing radiation.
Flexible pipe body and method of producing same
A flexible pipe comprising a tubular layer comprising a polymer that is crosslinked to a greater degree at an outer region of the tubular layer than at an inner region of the tubular layer, wherein the outer region is defined by the outer surface of the tubular layer to a depth of 5% of the total thickness of the tubular layer and the inner region is defined by the inner surface of the tubular layer to a depth of 5% of the total thickness of the tubular layer.
RECYCLABLE PACKAGING FILM
A recyclable packaging film includes an irradiated first film and a second film laminated to the first film. The first film includes a first polypropylene layer, a second polypropylene layer, and an ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) layer between the first and second polypropylene layers.
Method for producing a thermoplastic film
In a method for producing a thermoplastic film having a three-dimensionally textured, embossed surface, the film is subjected prior to a subsequent shaping kind of processing step to electron-beam crosslinking, which differently crosslinks the individual surface-area regions of the film, so that the regions that undergo greater degrees of drawing out during deforming have different degrees of crosslinking than their neighboring regions.
