PROCESSES FOR IN-MOLD COATING SYSTEMS FOR MOLDING, AND PRODUCTS FORMED THEREFROM
Disclosed are processes for In-Mold coating of a substrate. The processes include: introducing a curable composition to a mixhead at a first elevated pressure, the curable composition comprising a first polymeric component and a second polymeric component, the introducing of the curable composition to the mixhead comprising mixing the first and second polymeric components by impingement to form an intermediate composition; introducing the intermediate composition to a secondary mixer, the introducing of the intermediate composition to the secondary mixer comprising mixing the intermediate composition to form a coating composition; and introducing the coating composition into a mold containing a substrate to form a curable coating on a surface of the substrate.
Method for preparing a textile/resin composite part
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a textile/thermoplastic resin composite part, comprising the following steps: (a) providing a mould; (b) applying at least one composition (A) comprising at least one thermoplastic resin; (c) heating the mould; (d) applying the textile to the heated thermoplastic resin; (e) cooling the mould; (f) unmoulding.
Automated manufacturing method and system and in-mold coated plastic article produced thereby
An automated manufacturing method and system and in-mold coated plastic article produced thereby are provided. The system includes a compression mold and a plurality of program-controlled manipulators. An automatic sprayer supported on a first manipulator sprays at least a portion of a mold surface with an in-mold coating composition. An end effector supported on a second manipulator picks up a heated blank of moldable plastic sheet material from an oven and places the heated blank between upper and lower mold halves of the mold. An inner portion of the heated blank is forced into an article-defining cavity of the mold and into contact with at least a portion of the in-mold coating composition. The in-mold coating composition and the inner portion of the heated blank cure and bond to one another so as to form the coated plastic article.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MICROPATTERNING OBJECTS
Implanted medical devices need a mechanism of immobilization to surrounding tissues, which minimizes tissue damage while providing reliable long-term anchoring. This disclosure relates to techniques for patterning arbitrarily shaped 3D objects and to patterned balloon devices having micro- or nano-patterning on an outer surface of an inflatable balloon. The external pattern can provide enhanced friction and anchoring in an aqueous environment. Examples of these types of patterns are hexagonal arrays inspired by tree frogs, corrugated patterns, and microneedle patterns. The patterned balloon devices can be disposed between an implant and surrounding tissues to facilitate anchoring of the implant.
Automated manufacturing method and system and in-mold coated plastic article produced thereby
An automated manufacturing method and system and in-mold coated plastic article produced thereby are provided. The system includes a combination compression and injection mold and a plurality of program-controlled manipulators. An automatic sprayer supported on a first manipulator sprays at least a portion of a mold surface with an in-mold coating composition. An end effector supported on a second manipulator picks up a heated blank of moldable plastic sheet material from an oven and places the heated blank in the mold. An inner portion of the heated blank is forced into an article-defining cavity of the mold and into contact with at least a portion of the composition. The composition and the inner portion cure and bond to one another and a plastic compatible with the plastic of the sheet is injected into the mold so as to form the coated plastic article.
Manufacturing method for a car safety seat
A manufacturing method for a car safety seat includes the following steps: providing a mold and disposing a main body of the car safety seat into the mold, and injecting a foam material into a cavity of the mold and foaming the foam material so as to form a flexible layer integrated with the main body. A pressure in the cavity is between 1.5 bar and 5.0 bar. The manufacturing method disposes the main body into the mold and directly forms a flexible layer on the main body, so that the flexible layer ensures safety and comfort of the car safety seat while saves the necessity to dispose a seat pad or a cushion and fixing structures on the main body, and thereby reduces the cost and the work-hour of assembly, and the overall weight of the car safety seat can be reduced by omitting the fixing structures.
Manufacturing method for a child carrying device
A manufacturing method for a child carrying device includes the following steps: providing a mold and disposing a main body of the child carrying device into the mold, and injecting a foam material into a cavity of the mold and foaming the foam material so as to form a flexible layer integrated with the main body. The manufacturing method disposes the main body into the mold and directly forms a flexible layer on the main body, so that the flexible layer ensures safety and comfort of the child carrying device while saves the necessity to dispose a seat pad or a cushion and fixing structures on the main body, and thereby reduces the cost and the work-hour of assembly, and the overall weight of the child carrying device can be reduced by omitting the fixing structures.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MOLDED COATING ON CMC
A method of forming a coating includes providing a mold that has a flexible wall that defines a mold cavity, inserting a component that is to be coated into the mold cavity, the component having a component surface roughness and there being a coating gap defined between the component and the flexible wall of the mold cavity, introducing a molding slurry into the mold cavity, the molding slurry filling the coating gap and contacting the component so as to overcoat the component surface roughness, solidifying the molding slurry to form a green coating on the component, and consolidating the green coating to form a final coating on the component, the final coating having a coating surface roughness that is less than the component surface roughness.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CYCLOOLEFIN RESIN-DECORATIVE MOLDED ARTICLE
Provided is a method for producing a decorated cycloolefin resin molded article, the method comprising curing a gel coat composition and polymerizing a cycloolefin polymerizable composition containing a radical generator while the gel coat composition is in contact with the cycloolefin polymerizable composition, thereby containing a decorated cycloolefin resin molded article including a gel coat and a cycloolefin resin layer adhering to each other.
