The method of assembling the hardscaping unit includes the steps of forming a first block from a first material, placing a second material into a mold, contacting a surface of the first block with the second material that is in the mold, maintaining contact of the surface of the first block with the second material while transitioning the second material from a first state to a second state, the second state being more solid than the first state, and when in the second state the second material forms a second block that is fixedly attached to the first block.

A method for manufacturing a high-pressure tank includes: forming a preform by winding a carbon fiber around a liner to form a fiber layer on an outer periphery of the liner; and impregnating the fiber layer of the preform with a curable resin and curing the curable resin. When winding the carbon fiber around the liner, a metal wire together with the carbon fiber is wound around the liner.

The invention includes cast molding methods for increasing the molecular weight of the thermoplastic polyurethane composition used to make the cover and ultimately to a golf ball cover having high shear and cut-resistance

The present invention provides a method for producing a molded body, having the step 1 of applying a composition containing an alicyclic urethane (meth)acrylate to a thermoplastic resin substrate to obtain a coated material, the step 2 of irradiating the obtained coated material with an active energy ray to cure the composition, obtaining a laminated material having a cured product layer obtained from the cured composition, and the step 3 of subjecting the obtained laminated material to bending processing to obtain a molded body, wherein the alicyclic urethane (meth)acrylate has a structure having an alicyclic structure represented by the formula (A), and a group having two or more (meth)acryloyl groups represented by the formula (B), and further has a polymerizable double bond equivalent of 100 to 1,000 g/mol.

A method of manufacturing a treated sheet includes preparing a resin layer composite including a resin sheet and a thermoplastic resin layer supported on one surface of the resin sheet, applying a dispersion liquid including a powdery thermoplastic resin raw material onto a surface of the thermoplastic resin layer opposite to the resin sheet, and fusing the thermoplastic resin raw material to the thermoplastic resin layer by irradiating, with light from a flash lamp, a coating of the thermoplastic resin raw material formed in the applying step. The thermoplastic resin raw material has a melting point higher than the glass transition point of a resin that is a primary material of the resin sheet.

A composition comprising an insulin-polymer conjugate and an insulin aptamer-glucagon conjugate is described. Depending upon the amount of insulin in the environment surrounding the composition, the insulin aptamer of the insulin aptamer-glucagon conjugate can bind to insulin in the insulin-polymer conjugate to form a non-covalent conjugate. When the amount of insulin in the surrounding environment rises, the insulin aptamer-glucagon conjugate can be released. Thus, the composition can be used to deliver glucagon in an insulin responsive manner. The composition can be loaded into microneedles, for example, to prepare microneedle arrays for skin patches. Methods of delivering glucagon to a subject are also described.

A method of manufacturing a therapeutic material incorporating a soft thermoformable elastomer with a phase change material exhibiting high latent heat of fusion. The compound provides elasticity, softness, formability, and heat over an extended duration and to facilitate prolonged skin contact at elevated temperatures. Used in combination with active ingredients the increased temperature and formability provides enhanced transdermal delivery through the skin. Thermoplastic elastomers may be manufactured by mixing together plasticizing oil, a triblock copolymer, a paraffinic substance and one or more additives, e.g., an antioxidant, an antimicrobial agent, and/or other additives to form a mixture which melted then cooled into the thermoplastic elastomer. During cooling, the thermoplastic elastomer may be molded or otherwise formed into any number of articles including, but not limited to, prosthetic liners, prosthetic sleeves, external breast prostheses, breast enhancement bladders, masks, wound dressing sheets, wound dressing pads, socks, gloves, malleolus pads, metatarsal pads, shoe insoles, urinary catheters, vascular catheters, and balloons for medical catheters both vascular as well as urinary. Active ingredients are preferably added to the cooling thermoplastic elastomer when the temperature is below 100° F. to prevent heat degradation and/or breakdown of vital proteins.

A cue tip for a billiard cue is provided that includes multiple chemically bonded layers formed of a polyurethane material. Each layer is formed of a different polyurethane material with a different hardness than any adjacent layer. The defined layers include at least a proximal layer and a distal layer of polyurethane and at least one intermediary layer. Additional aspects presented include a leather-infused polyurethane layer and a compressed leather layer.

A method and apparatus for positioning an end effector relative to a fuselage assembly. The end effector is positioned relative to an expected reference location for a reference point on the fuselage assembly using data from a first metrology system. After positioning the end effector relative to the expected reference location, an actual reference location for the reference point on the fuselage assembly is identified using data from a second metrology system. The end effector is positioned at an operation location based on the actual reference location identified.
