RESIN-SEALED COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A resin-sealed component includes a part to be sealed, a first sealing member covering at least a part of the part to be sealed, and a second sealing member sealing a surface of the first sealing member. The first sealing member and the second sealing member are made of thermosetting resins. The second sealing member is made of the thermosetting resin having a gelation time longer than that of the first sealing member.
Insulation system for an electrical machine
The present disclosure relates to insulation systems. The teachings thereof may be embodied in an insulation system for an electrical machine. For example, an insulation system may comprise: solid insulation materials; an impregnating resin having oxirane functionalities; a depot accelerator distributed throughout the solid insulation materials; and a catalyst for initiating hardening of the impregnating resin, wherein the catalyst is at least partly in gaseous form under hardening conditions.
ROLL-TO-ROLL MANUFACTURING MACHINES AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING NANOSTRUCTURE-CONTAINING POLYMER FILMS
A roll-to-roll manufacturing machine suitable for processing and producing polymer films that contain nanostructures, including but not limited to multifunctional polymer films. The machine applies a liquid polymer on a substrate to form a liquid polymer film, at least partially embeds nanostructures into the liquid polymer film, melt casts a layer of a molten polymer on the liquid polymer film to produce a thin polymer film, organizes the nanostructures in a thickness direction of the thin polymer film comprising applying an electric field to the thin polymer film, aligns the nanostructures in the thin polymer film by simultaneously subjecting the thin polymer film to heat and a field that aligns the nanostructures, and solidifies the thin polymer film to freeze the nanostructures along nanocolumns in a thickness direction of a solidified polymer film resulting therefrom.
ARCHITECTURAL CONCRETE AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
A method of forming an architectural concrete structure having a desired look (i.e., color) and texture, wherein the method generally includes pouring a base concrete layer using conventional concrete. A surface concrete mixture is prepared and includes a mixture of sand and small aggregates to give the surface concrete mixture the desired color and texture for the architectural concrete structure. The base concrete layer provides strength and durability to the concrete structure, while the surface concrete layer provides the desired look and texture of the concrete surface. The surface concrete mixture preferably includes small aggregates to create a smooth and uniform texture.
MULTILAYER RIBLET APPLIQUE AND METHODS OF PRODUCING THE SAME
Multilayer riblet applique and methods of producing the same are described herein. One disclosed example method includes applying a first high elongation polymer material to a web tool, where the web tool is to be provided from a first roll, and heating, via a first heating process, the first high elongation polymer material. The disclosed example method also includes applying a second high elongation polymer material to the first high elongation polymer material, and heating, via a second heating process, the second high elongation polymer material. The disclosed example method also includes applying, via a laminating roller, a support layer to the second high elongation polymer material.
System and method for manufacturing a cosmetic stick
A method for manufacturing a cosmetic stick having at least two different colored portions includes inserting a pin into at least one mold cavity of a mold body, filling the mold cavity containing the pin with a first cosmetic material of a first color, and then recovering the excess first cosmetic material from a top surface of the mold body. The pin is removed from the mold cavity leaving a void in the mold cavity, and a guard plate is placed over the top surface of the mold body, the guard plate having a hole over the mold cavity. The void in the mold cavity is filled with a second cosmetic material, the second cosmetic material being a second color that is different than the first color. The excess second cosmetic material is then recovered from a top surface of the guard plate.

Method for producing an artificial leather with improved flexing endurance properties
The present invention relates to a process for production of artificial leather comprising top coat, polyurethane layer and optional substrate layer, said process comprising i) providing a release layer, ii) applying one or more than one layer of a top coat to the release layer to an overall top coat layer thickness in the range from 1 to 500 m, iii) applying first polyurethane system components comprising an isocyanate component (A) and a polyol component (B) to the top coat to form a first polyurethane layer, wherein the isocyanate index of the first polyurethane system components is in the range from 101 to 140, iv) optionally applying further polyurethane system components to the first polyurethane layer to form further polyurethane layers, v) optionally applying a substrate layer to the polyurethane system components, vi) curing the polyurethane system components to form a polyurethane layer, and vii) separating the release layer from the top coat, wherein the overall thickness of the first and optionally further polyurethane layers is in the range from 0.01 to 20 mm and the polyurethane system components are solvent-free. The present invention further relates to an artificial leather obtainable by such a process and to the use of the artificial leather as upper materials for footwear.

LAYERED TUBE FOR IMPROVED KINK RESISTANCE
A catheter shaft is produced by forming a first polymeric layer onto a flexible inner core while maintaining the inner core in a solid state, and solidifying the first polymeric layer, wherein the solidified first polymeric layer fails to bond with the inner core and is slidable thereon upon flexion of the shaft. A second polymeric layer may be formed over the first polymeric layer, and is slidable thereon when the shaft bends.
