ROTATIONAL CASTING MACHINE
20200269473 · 2020-08-27 ·

A method and apparatus for rotationally casting hollow articles includes securing a mold within a clamping member coupled to an inner frame which is further coupled to an outer frame, rotating the outer frame about a first axis, and rotating the inner frame about a second axis that is orthogonal to the first axis. Rotation of the outer frame may be driven by a motor or a manual crank. Furthermore, rotation of the inner frame may be driven by the outer frame. The rotational casting apparatus is adjustable and can accommodate a variety of mold sizes for casting. The rotational casting apparatus may be configured for individual and/or industrial settings.

The present invention relates to a process for the production of hollow plastic articles in a rotational molding process as well as to hollow plastic articles made by such a process, in particular to a process for the production of hollow plastic articles which exhibit a colored surface exhibiting striking pearlescent or metallic effects.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ROTATIONAL MOLDING

A rotational mold system includes at least two molds. A mold cavity is defined in each of the molds and designed to receive molding material that is injected into the mold cavity. Each of the molds is heated using one or more electric heaters that are directly attached to the mold or attached to a separate platen that is in contact with the mold. The heat transferred to the molds melts the molding material within the mold cavities, allowing the molding material to coat the inside walls of the molds as the molds are rotated.

The present invention provides a die assembly for molding a resin-made insert having a sleeve that is inserted into an intake port of an internal combustion engine. Each sleeve has one inlet and two outlets. The die assembly includes an inner die and an outer die. The inner die includes an inlet side part and an outlet side part. The inlet side part and the outlet side part mold an inner peripheral surface of the sleeve in an assembled state, and are removed in mutually opposite directions. By means of this assembly, a sleeve having a complicated structure and shape can be molded easily.
