Seed Panel

A method of forming a plantable structure involves providing a substrate element, a release layer spaced from the substrate element, an adhesive layer disposed between the substrate element and the release layer, and at least one seed abutting the adhesive layer. The seed(s) is/are coupled to the substrate element through the adhesive layer. The method further comprises removing the release layer from the composite article, and adhering a remaining portion of the composite article to a secondary article. The remaining portion of the secondary article comprises the substrate element, the adhesive layer disposed on the substrate element, and the seed(s) abutting the adhesive layer. Also disclosed herein are a method of planting at least one seed with a composite article, a packaging structure, a method of forming a packaging structure, and a method of planting at least one seed.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PLANT CULTIVATION

A plant-growing system can include a reservoir system and at least one pod. The reservoir system can include a base configured to hold a liquid and a top plate comprising at least one pod holder, where the top plate can be supported by the base. The at least one pod can be configured to be removably inserted in the at least one pod holder. The at least one pod can include a support plate, a wick comprising a first end and a second end, and a seed pad, where the wick can be positioned between the support plate and the seed pad.

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CREATING WETLANDS IN HOT ARID ENVIRONMENTS
20250194457 · 2025-06-19 · ·

A method of creating a wetland in a hot, arid, location includes identifying or establishing a channel of flowing water at the arid location, and installing therein a mat containing seeds, and/or seedlings, and a super absorbent polymer (SAP). Water from the channel is applied to hydrate the SAP, and both edible and dam-constructing vegetation is allowed to grow and mature from the seeds and/or seedlings. Beavers are then introduced into the arid location, which eat the edible vegetation and use the dam-constructing vegetation to construct at least one dam across the channel of flowing water, thereby forming a wetland that further encourages both the vegetation and the beavers to propagate. A perforated, transparent or translucent cover sheet can be placed on or suspended above the mat. A water barrier can be placed below the mat. The wetland vegetation cools and humidifies the environment by transpiration of water.

A seedmat for growing plants, the seedmat comprises a biodegradable base layer, a seed layer and a biodegradable cover layer. The seed layer includes fertilizer granules or pellets that each have a coating, such as a polymer coating, that enables the pellets to absorb water and to slowly release that water, together with fertilizer.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GROWING VEGETATION IN HOT ARID COASTAL ENVIRONMENTS

An apparatus and method for growing vegetation in a hot, arid, coastal location includes installing, at or below grade, a mat containing seeds, and/or seedlings, and a super absorbent polymer (SAP), the mat being cooperative with a thermally conductive network in thermal communication with an evaporative panel that is cooled by seawater evaporation, thereby drawing heat away from the mat. A seawater reservoir can collect seawater draining from the cooling panel. A pumping system can recirculate the collected seawater to the cooling panel, thereby converting the seawater into brine, which can be periodically transferred to a drying tray for production of salt. A perforated, transparent or translucent cover sheet can be placed on or suspended above the mat. A water barrier can be placed below the mat. The cooling panel can be incorporated into a wall of a cooling greenhouse that surrounds and contains the mat.

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CREATING WETLANDS IN REMOTE ARID ENVIRONMENTS

A method of creating a wetland in a remote arid location includes identifying or establishing a channel of flowing water at the arid location, and installing therein a mat containing seeds, and/or seedlings, and a super absorbent polymer (SAP). Water is applied to the SAP, such that both edible and dam-constructing vegetation grows and matures from the mat. Beavers are then dropped into the arid location by parachute in containers that open upon landing. The beavers eat the edible vegetation and use the dam-constructing vegetation to construct at least one dam across the channel of flowing water, thereby forming a wetland that further encourages both the vegetation and the beavers to propagate. A perforated, transparent or translucent cover sheet can be placed on or suspended above the mat. A water barrier can be placed below the mat. Resilient plant development media are disclosed that can include a first layer that includes a plurality of adjacent strands, a second layer that includes a plurality of strands that are adjacent and that is in stacked relation relative to the first layer, wherein the strands of the first layer and the strands of the second layer are in a non-aligned orientation relative to each other. The strands in the first layer and the strands in the second layer may define a crisscross pattern. The multilayer resilient media is effective in supporting seeds during germination and plants throughout their growth and development. The multilayer resilient media is effective for use in various plant growing modalities, e.g., aeroponic, nutrient film, and hydroponic plant growing environments, ratooning processes, and may be easily cleaned for reuse.
