The present invention relates to a manufacturing method for a mower cord and includes pressing a resin wire rod and plastically deforming at least part of the wire rod in an axis perpendicular direction. Work-hardening of a surface of the plastically deformed portion allows dramatic enhancement of mowing efficiency.

A method for producing anchor rods from a fiber composite material includes a solidifying step during which a strand of a curable matrix material with embedded fibers is conveyed to an irradiation device and solidified by an irradiation with light. In a subsequent curing step, the solidified strand is conveyed to an annealing device and is cured by heating to an annealing temperature. A portion of the cured strand forms an anchor rod. The strand is continuously conveyed past or into the irradiation device in a depression of a circulating conveyor belt. The depression of the conveyor belt comprises profiled inner wall regions, via which, during the solidifying step, a surface profiling of the strand conveyed therein is effected. The conveyor belt consists of a light-permeable material, so that multiple illumination devices can illuminate the strand conveyed on the conveyor belt from various directions.
Forming apparatus
A method of forming a material includes presenting a formable material to a space between opposing forming surfaces of opposed forming tools from whence said material is carried as said opposing forming surfaces advance in a machine direction. The method includes pressurising, as said opposing forming surfaces advance, said material between said opposing forming surfaces in a reduced space between said opposing forming surfaces defining at least in part a pressure forming zone, said reduced space between said opposing forming surfaces being maintained constant until a form of at least one of said opposing forming surfaces is profiled into said material and is retainable thereon. The method also includes releasing the profiled material from between the said opposing forming surfaces, as the space of the pressure forming zone increases between said opposing forming surfaces as the opposing forming surfaces advance.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING AN EXTRUDATE
A method for producing an elongated article with a sheath. The sheath is extruded with a predetermined wall thickness in an extrusion unit. Following the extrusion unit in a feeding direction, a part of the still moldable material is built up with the aid of a molding unit during a molding process such that a molded part forms integrally on the sheath. The molding unit is moved according to the following working cycle: the molding unit is accelerated from a starting position in the feeding direction, then it is advanced in the direction of the elongated article and the molded part is formed, the molding unit is withdrawn from the elongated article, and the molding unit is decelerated and moved from an end position, counter to the feeding direction, back in the direction of the starting position.

Grooves are introduced into the first surface and mating grooves are introduced into the second surface. The mating grooves and the grooves cross one another at crossing points. Through-openings between the grooves and the mating grooves are formed at the crossing points.

A decorative member that is a three-dimensional molding article includes a sheet, a lens portion, and an image-forming portion. The sheet has a light-transmitting property and has a first sheet surface that is curved. The lens portion is provided on the first sheet surface so as to curve along the curved surface. The lens portion has a plurality of protruding lenses disposed in parallel. A minimum value of widths of the lenses is in a range of 25.4 m or more and 508.0 m or less. The image-forming portion is provided on a second sheet surface, and an image is formed on the image-forming portion. The curved surface has a first region to a third region having different normal directions and has a shape in which one of the normal directions of the respective regions is inclined to a plane including the other two normal directions.
System and method for identifying thermal expansion issues in a corrugator
Pipe corrugators having opposed series of pushed mold blocks forming a moving mold tunnel are subject to significant thermal expansion and are designed with a thermal expansion gap. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for measuring changes in this expansion gap and preferably recognizing potential thermal issues before serious problems occur. A sensor is provided adjacent a mold block drive that preferably detects a time duration between sensing a trailing portion of a lead mold block and a leading edge of a following mold block separated from the lead mold block by the thermal expansion gap. This time duration in combination with a speed of the pushed mold blocks is used to calculate the size of the thermal expansion gap.
