Modular molding assembly
A molding apparatus defining a processing direction includes multiple molding modules spaced apart in a lateral direction perpendicular to the processing direction and a common reaction surface. Each molding module includes a frame and a mold roll that defines molding cavities. Each mold roll defines a respective pressure zone in cooperation with the reaction surface and each mold roll is movable with respect to the reaction surface by controlled operation of the frame. Molten resin is introduced into the pressure zones and forced into the molding cavities to form arrays of fastener elements extending from base layers of resin formed on the surfaces of the mold rolls. The fastener elements are withdrawn from the cavities while stripping the base layers from the peripheral surfaces.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR APPLYING A SEALING COMPOUND TO THE BASE AND THE INSIDE OF AN ANNULAR WALL OF A LID FOR CONTAINERS
A method for applying a sealing compound to a lid base and an inside of an annular wall of a lid comprises applying a first annular structure to the lid base with an applicator. The first annular structure comprises the sealing compound. The first annular structure of sealing compound is pressed against the lid base to form a second annular structure. The pressing is performed using an annular first press ram surrounding an inner forming part. The second annular structure of sealing compound is pressed into a transition area with an end face of the first press ram. The sealing compound is pressed through a gap defined between the end face of the first press ram and the lid base. The second annular structure is pressed flat against the lid base and into the gap between the lid wall and the first press ram using a second press ram.
Foamed structure and resin panel
A resin panel according to an embodiment includes a core material, a reinforcing material, a skin material covering the core material and the reinforcing material, and a fastened member. A reinforcing material has a first plate provided on a front surface of the core material, a second plate provided on a back surface of the core material, and a connecting plate connecting the first plate and the second plate. The fastened member is attached to the skin material by a fastening member penetrating the skin material and the first plate or the second plate of the reinforcing material.
MOLTEN EXTRUSION LOADING FOR COMPRESSION MOLDS USING CHOPPED PREPREG FIBER
Systems and methods are provided for fabricating composite parts. One embodiment is a method that includes heating a female die having a receptacle and a complementary male die, heating an extruder above a melting point of a thermoplastic within chopped prepreg fiber, in order to melt chopped prepreg fiber disposed within the extruder, extruding the chopped prepreg fiber from the extruder into the receptacle of the female die while the chopped prepreg fiber remains molten, pressing the male die into the female die, causing the molten chopped prepreg fiber to fully enter receptacle, and cooling the chopped prepreg fiber in the receptacle of the female die to form a composite part.
COMPRESSION MOLDING MACHINE AND METHOD OF COMPRESSION MOLDING
A compression molding machine including a base part; a first mold chase fixed in a position spaced apart from the base part; a second mold chase disposed between the base part and the first mold chase, the second mold chase movable along a movement axis extending perpendicularly between the base part and the first mold chase; and a compression actuation arrangement for moving the second mold chase. The compression actuation arrangement including at least two independent actuating units, each having a first inverted wedge member, a second wedge member, and a drive mechanism. An inclined surface of the first inverted wedge member and an inclined surface of the second wedge member is slidably engaged to each other to convert a motion of the second wedge member along the transmission axis to a motion of the first inverted wedge member along the actuation axis for moving the second mold chase.
CONTAINER MADE FROM POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTHALATE HAVING A LOW OXYGEN PERMEABILITY
Container made from a thermoplastic molding composition comprising A) from 59.8 to 99.8% by weight of a polyester composed of from 30 to 100% by weight of a polybutylene terephthalate and 0 to 70% by weight of a polyester derived from 1,4-butanediol and a C.sub.2-12-aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and/or C.sub.6-12-cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acid, B) 0.1 to 10% by weight of an oxidizable polyester-ether, C) 5 to 10000 weight-ppm of a salt of a transition metal, D) 0 to 40% by weight of other additional substances, where the total of the percentages by weight of components A) to B) is 100% by weight.
METHOD FOR APPLYING AN EXTRUDED SEAL TO A SURFACE
A method for applying a sealant to the surface of an object includes forming an annular dose of synthetic plasticised material supplied from an extruder, depositing the dose on the surface of object and compression forming the dose to form a seal. The extruder includes an annular outlet which is opened and closed to deposit successive doses. Each dose that exits the annular outlet is separated from a supply of plasticized material in the extruder.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING A SEALING MEMBER TO A CAPSULE FOR PREPARING A BEVERAGE
A method for applying a sealing member to a capsule intended for the preparation of a beverage in a device for making beverages, where the capsule includes a body having a bottom wall, a side wall and a flange-like rim which extends from the side wall, comprises a step of applying a charge of sealing composition in a viscous state on the flange-like rim and a step of compression moulding the charge of sealing composition against the flange-like rim.
Method and apparatus for creating engineered stone slabs
A method which may include depositing a first mixture containing resin and aggregate minerals into a first mold; preparing a plurality of further mixtures; wherein the plurality of further mixtures, include at least a second mixture and a third mixture; wherein each of the plurality of further mixtures contain at least one of resin, colorant or aggregate minerals, wherein the plurality of further mixtures is combined by using at least one blending technique in order to blend the plurality of further mixtures into a variegated composite mixture; and further including depositing the variegated composite mixture into the first mold; and wherein the at least one blending technique and the depositing of the variegated composite mixture are computer controlled. Each of the plurality of further mixtures may have a higher resin percentage than the first mixture. The variegated composite mixture may have a viscosity value of at least ten thousand centipoise.
