ISOSTATIC SIDE-PRESSURE SHIELDED COMPOSITE CONSOLIDATION
A mold for use in the production of a ballistic article from a composite laminate stacked material wherein the mold has a sliding sealing section that nests with a outer permitter section and base portion so as to shield the sides of the composite laminate stacked material from applied isostatic pressure applied when in an autoclave. By shielding the sides of the composite laminate stacked material excess resin matrix material can be forced from the composite laminate stacked material to provide a uniform composite article with reduced weight and reduced thickness.
System with plug assembly for continuous molding and curing of tire tread
A system for the continuous extrusion, molding, and curing of tread for tires. An elongated strip of rubber material can be molded and cured shortly after extrusion such that the material retains much of the heat energy of extrusion and does not have to be stored. A plurality of discrete mold assemblies are conveyed adjacent to each other. As the mold assemblies are advanced sequentially, the uncured and unmolded strip of rubber material are extruded and positioned onto the mold assemblies. While the rubber strip advances, individual portions are sequentially molded and cured by passing through a mold press and then a curing press. A plug assembly is used to prevent the backflow of rubber material during the molding and curing.
Vacuum molding of thermoset sheet articles
A process of compression molding an article from a curable resin is provided that includes opening a mold to an open position by displacing an upper die having an upper mold surface from a lower die having a lower mold surface. Resin is placed a mold surface and the dies are closed to an intermediate start position at a rate of from 1 to 10 cm/sec. The dies are then closed to a start position at a rate of between 25 and 60% of the rate of closure to the intermediate position. A shroud volume is evacuated for at least 3 seconds to a reduced pressure of less than 0.16 atmospheres while continuing to press toward a mold cavity volume at a rate of between 12 and 30% of the rate of closure to the intermediate start. The reduced pressure is removed as the full compression is applied.
Shim for a compression mold with improved sealing
A shim for a compression mold for manufacturing a component from reinforced plastic, typically from SMC, comprising a fixed molding element, a mobile molding element, and a mobile shim that can be moved by an actuator. The mobile shim comprises a conventional part made of steel but also a part made of a high expansion material with a mean coefficient of expansion that is high enough that its own expansion at the molding temperature places the shim in compression against the molding element and seals against this element, thus eliminating flash on the molded part. This material is advantageously a polyetheretherketone, or PEEK. A mold comprising this shim and a compression molding method are also disclosed.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE MATERIAL MOLDING
A method for producing a composite material molded article, including laminating a fibrous filler on a mold; pressure-reducing inside an airproof space, the airproof space being formed with the mold laminated with the fibrous filler and an airproof film covering thereon; and impregnating a resin material in the fibrous filler, the formation of the airproof space including bonding the mold and the airproof film with a seal material containing a (meth)acrylic polymer as an adhesive. The composite resin molded article obtained by the method of the present invention can be suitably used in fields in which composite materials of fibrous fillers such as glass fibers and carbon fibers are generally used, for example, housings, structural members, and the like for moving objects or movable objects.
DEVICE FOR PROTECTING AN ATTACHMENT INSERT DURING THE OVERMOULDING OF SAME
Device for protecting a fastening insert to overmould the fastening insert with a plastic material using a mould, the fastening insert having a fastening member, characterised in that wherein the device comprises: piercing means adapted to pierce at least one sheet of plastic material; means for sealing the fastening member to prevent infiltration of plastic material on the fastening member during an overmoulding operation.
Systems and Methods for Applying Vacuum Pressure to Composite Parts
A vacuum probe comprises a sharpened body that is displaceable downward and toward a vacuum bag during vacuum hose quick connection. The sharpened body and a valve element inside the vacuum probe move in tandem until the sharpened body projects outside the vacuum probe. A vacuum pressure applied via the vacuum hose pulls the vacuum bag upwards and towards the projecting sharpened body, which then punctures the vacuum bag, thereby enabling air under the vacuum bag to be evacuated via the vacuum probe as vacuum pressure continues to be applied.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING PARTS AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES
A mold assembly for producing a part includes a first section, a second section movably coupled to the first section, and a cavity defined by the first section and the second section, the cavity being shaped to receive a part while the first section and the second section are movably coupled to each other. The mold assembly includes a joint formed by adjacent surfaces of the first section and the second section and a seal extending along the joint.
DEVICE FOR FORMING A SHEETED DOUGH FROM A DOUGH PIECE BY PRESSING
A device for forming a sheeted dough from a dough piece, which includes: (i) a lower tray arranged so as to support the dough piece during a forming operation, (ii) an upper tray, and (iii) a forming actuator arranged so as to move the upper plate in relation to the lower plate, in such a way as to be able to press the dough piece between the lower tray and the upper tray in order to form a sheeted dough, the lower tray containing a system of mobile ejectors that can assume a so-called retracted position in such a way as to form, overall, a continuous surface with the lower tray, and a so-called raised position in such a way as to form a raised surface in relation to the lower tray.
SYSTEM FOR HANDLING CULINARY PREPARATIONS
A system for handling culinary preparations, which includes: a mounting (I) including an upper surface arranged to receive a culinary preparation, and a plurality of feedthroughs extending between the upper surface and a lower surface; a transfer device including a plurality of projecting portions; a relative movement system being arranged to position the system in a low position, in which no projecting portion projects relative to the upper surface of the mounting, and a high position, in which one end of at least one projecting portion is made to project through the feedthroughs, relative to the upper surface of the mounting; and a handling tool including oblong elements arranged to be inserted between projecting portions.
