AIRBAG CHUTE WITH INTEGRAL SEAL
20200172038 · 2020-06-04 ·

A vehicle interior panel includes a seal between a substrate and an airbag chute and around an opening in the substrate through which the airbag chute is installed. The seal prevents a foam layer from extending into the opening when the foam layer is being molded. The seal is attached to the airbag chute prior to assembly with the substrate and is made from a material that is more flexible than the airbag chute material. The seal can be attached to the airbag chute in a two-shot molding process and spaced from the perimeter of the airbag chute along its back side. During molding of the foam layer, foam expansion pressure acts to improve the function of the seal as a foam barrier.

10668688 · 2020-06-02 · ·

The invention relates to a multilayer thermal insulation panel for construction (100) and manufacturing method thereof. Such panel comprises: a main layer (1) in thermally insulating material which comprises a first surface (10) and a second surface (20); a first backing layer (2) of the main layer connected to the main layer along the first surface (10); a second backing layer (5) of the main layer connected to the main layer along the second surface (20). At least one of such first (2) and second (5) backing layers comprises: a reinforcement layer (3) in fibrous material, a fire-resistant (4) and thermally insulating layer, a cladding layer (6) of the reinforcement layer (3); a binding layer (7) positioned on a surface (8) of the fire-resistant layer (4) in such a way that the fire-resistant layer is sandwiched between the cladding layer (6) and the binding layer. The panel is characterised in that the binding layer (7) is manufactured by means of. a spray-applied aqueous solution of sodium silicates on the surface (8) of the fire-resistant layer (4).

Method of installing a heat tube on pre-insulated piping

A method is shown for installing a heat tube on a section of pre-insulated piping. A metal carrier pipe is covered with a first layer of foam insulation. Next, a routing device is used to cut a longitudinal slot along the length of the pipe so that the pipe exterior surface is exposed from the insulation. A heat tube is then installed within the longitudinal slot, whereby the heat tube contacts the exterior surface of the metal carrier pipe. A second layer of foam insulation is then sprayed onto the exterior of the metal carrier pipe, covering the previously formed longitudinal slot and installed heat tube. A polyolefin coating is then applied over the insulation to form a protective outer jacket for the insulated pipe.

USE OF SACRIFICIAL AGENTS IN MANUFACTURE OF GYPSUM WALLBOARD

The present invention relates to the use of sacrificial agents to counteract the deleterious impact of gypsum contaminants on the effectiveness of certain stucco additives, particularly, water reducing agents and foaming agents, in a stucco slurry used to make gypsum wallboard.

VEHICLE INTERIOR BOARD AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

A vehicle interior board which is thin, lightweight, has high strength, has less degradation, peeling and the like near an end portion of a metal plate, and has high quality and excellent productivity; and a method for manufacturing the same. The vehicle interior board includes a pair of metal plates and a foamed polyurethane layer formed between the pair of metal plates. A projecting ridge projecting outwardly and extending in a predetermined direction along the outer surface is formed on an outer surface of the metal plate. Thus, it is possible to obtain desired strength and rigidity even when the metal plates or the foamed polyurethane layer are thinned or when a lightweight aluminum plate or the like is adopted as the metal plates. Therefore, it is possible to reduce weight of a vehicle interior board.

Panel structure

A panel structure and a method of forming the panel structure are disclosed. The panel structure typically includes at least one panel associated with a material. The panel structure has been found particularly advantageous for use as an interior panel of an airplane.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A HYBRID INSULATING FRAME AND PANEL

A method of manufacturing a hybrid insulating panel includes providing a mold of a frame, dispensing a first foam material in a liquid phase in the mold, and placing a beam in the mold. The method includes curing the first foam material to form an integrated frame, in which the integrated frame includes the beam at least partially surrounded by the first foam. Further, the method includes dispensing a second foam material into a panel cavity to form a panel body. The panel cavity is at least partially defined by a side of the integrated frame. The method includes curing the second foam material to form a panel body, wherein the panel body is secured to the integrated frame.

Process for encapsulating fragile insulation materials within polyisocyanurate

Embodiments of the present invention are based, at least in part, on the discovery of methods for encapsulating fragile insulation materials within polyisocyanurate foam to thereby provide a construction board having an advantageous balance of insulating properties and mechanical durability.

Method for sequentially fabricating a cartridge casebody through injection molding

There is provided a mold apparatus and process whereby a warhead body can be fabricated in a single over molding process which may also include therein metal fragments, metal balls, obturators, boat tails and other aerodynamic features, metal rings and/or threads. Other molds and processes are presented whereby a warhead body may be over molded in a polymer matrix in sequential steps which may include adding therein metal balls, then fragments, and any of obturators, boat tails and other aerodynamic features, metal rings and/or threads, as desired. Still another process for fabricating a warhead body is presented whereby an insert section is first preloaded with metal fragments and covered with a skin, then the insert section is inserted into an oversized area in a mold, and polymer is then loaded around the insert section to form a unitary warhead body.

Method of manufacturing a lightweight laminate

A method of producing a laminated article comprising placing a first metal skin, a core, and a second metal skin freely onto each other as discrete layers to provide a layered component; and forming the layered component into a shaped article via a die prior to producing a laminated article by applying pressure and heat to the shaped article, wherein at least the first skin moves relative to the core and/or second skin during the forming.
