Composite foam
Composite materials having superior material properties useful as impact absorbing devices can be fabricated by embedding a lattice structure (e.g., polymer lattice structure) within a foam, so that the foam reinforces the lattice structure under impact. Materials and dimensions of the foam and the lattice structure may be selected to achieve composite materials having tailored impact absorbing elastic and/or viscoelastic responses over a wide range of temperatures.
SEAT PAD, VEHICLE SEAT, VEHICLE SEAT CONTROLLING METHOD, AND SEAT PAD MANUFACTURING METHOD
According to the disclosure, a seat pad 2 includes a bag-contained pad part 250 including a foam body 240 and a bag body 230 arranged inside the foam body 240.
Method for producing a drive cable holder for a vehicle roof and component for a vehicle roof
A method for producing a drive cable holder for a vehicle roof, which may have the steps of providing a component for the vehicle roof; positioning the component in a moulding tool; providing a guide tube for a drive cable; positioning the guide tube in the moulding tool; introducing a plastic into the moulding tool such that the plastic completely radially surrounds the drive cable at least in sections and such that the plastic comes into contact with a surface of the component; and thereby forming the drive cable holder which is secured to the component.
Cores for Composite Material Sandwich Panels
Core for a composite material sandwich panel, the core having a rectangular array of aligned elongate elements, composed of balsa wood, in a continuous matrix of a polymeric foam which has been moulded around the elements, wherein the elements each have a polygonal cross-section, the matrix filling voids between adjacent elements and bonding together the elements to form a unitary body and the array of elements extends between the opposite major surfaces in a thickness direction of the core and wherein woodgrain of the elements extends in the thickness direction.
MOTOR VEHICLE COMPOSITE COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
To manufacture a motor vehicle composite component, plastic particles are introduced into a mold cavity of a mold and are connected there to one another to form a particle foam. The mold is then adjusted while the mold cavity changes, and a thermoplastic plastic is then injected into the mold cavity while a carrying element and/or at least one fastening element are formed, wherein the thermoplastic plastic is bonded to the particle foam at least by connection in substance. The aforementioned materials may also be introduced in the reverse order. The mold is then adjusted once again while the mold cavity changes, and a metal melt is then injected into the mold cavity, as a result of which an electrical strip conductor and/or at least one metallic fastening element are formed.
Steering wheel and method of manufacturing such steering wheel
The invention relates to a steering wheel (1), especially a leather steering wheel, comprising a steering wheel skeleton (10), a foam padding (11) surrounding the steering wheel skeleton (10) at least partially and a wrapping (12) which encompasses the foam padding (11) at least in portions, wherein adjacent longitudinal edges (13) of the wrapping (12) are covered by a profile bead (20), in particular a decorative bead (24), the profile bead (20) including at least one anchoring element (21) which is fixed directly in the foam padding (11) for fastening the wrapping (12). Moreover the invention relates to a method of manufacturing such steering wheel.
Foam Molded Product and Manufacturing Method Therefor
The present disclosure provides a foam molded product and a manufacturing method. The foam molded product is includes a foam body, an insert material having a display unit or a detection unit attached to the foam body, and a surface material affixed to a surface to which at least the insert material is attached. A manufacturing method includes: preparing a pair of molds including a first mold and a second mold; affixing an insert material and a surface material together such that the surface material is in contact with a molding surface of the first mold; closing the pair of molds; injecting a foam resin into a molding space formed by closing the molds; foaming the foam resin to form a foam body; opening the pair of molds; and removing a molded product in which the affixed part and the foam body are integrated.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MOLDING A FOAM PAD WITH A WIRE ASSEMBLY
An apparatus for molding a foam pad with a wire assembly for an automotive vehicle includes a mold bowl operably coupled to a mold lid to define a mold cavity therebetween. The mold bowl includes a bottom surface and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from and encircling the bottom surface. A plurality of wire holders extend inwardly from and are spaced around the peripheral wall for vertically positioning the wire assembly within the mold cavity. A holding element, such as an arcuate recess, is disposed along an upper ledge of at least one of the wire holders for horizontally positioning the wire assembly within the mold cavity. The mold cavity receives a foam material for filling the mold cavity and surrounding the wire assembly to form the foam pad with the wire assembly embedded therein.
METHOD OF MAKING A FLAT BUILDING COMPONENT
The invention relates inter alia to a method of making a thin component (10) in lightweight sandwich construction with a high-quality surface (26).
INSTRUMENT PANEL WITH REINFORCEMENT MEMBER
A method and apparatus includes a substrate, a foam that is applied to the substrate to form a least a portion of an interior trim part, at least one holder fixed to the substrate, and at least one reinforcement member supported by the at least one holder such that, when the foam is applied, the at least one reinforcement member is suspended within the foam.
