Bulk container to meter seed transfer

A seed supply system includes a singulating meter with a seed reservoir pressurized to a meter pressure that is in a desired pressure range. A seed supply air stream carries seeds dispensed from a nurse tank to an air release assembly located above the singulating meter. As seeds are metered from the seed reservoir at a rate less than the rate seeds are dispensed from the nurse tank seeds accumulate in the air release assembly. The pressure of the seed supply air stream at the top of the seed column fluctuates and a barrier is operative to resist air flow between the air release assembly and the seed reservoir sufficiently to maintain the meter pressure in the desired meter pressure range. The barrier can be provided for example by an airlock or a column of seed in a drop tube between the air release assembly and the seed reservoir.

IMPLEMENT MOUNTED SENSORS SENSING SURFACE/FURROW CHARACTERISTICS AND CONTROL

A mobile agricultural machine includes a row unit having a furrow opener mounted to the row unit and configured to engage a surface of ground over which the mobile agricultural machine travels to open a furrow in the ground. A furrow closer is mounted to the row unit behind the furrow opener relative to a direction of travel of the mobile agricultural machine and configured to engage the surface of the ground to close the furrow. A furrow sensor system is mounted to the row unit and configured to sense characteristics relative to the furrow opened by the furrow opener and generate a sensor signal indicative of the characteristics. The mobile agricultural machine can further include a control system configured to determine a furrow quality metric corresponding to the furrow sensed by the furrow sensor system based on the sensor signal and generate an action signal to control an action of the mobile agricultural machine based on the furrow quality metric.

Liquid dispensing system

A liquid dispensing apparatus for applying liquid products to row crops. The liquid dispensing apparatus includes a plurality of drop assemblies supported by and laterally spaced along a boom structure. Each of the drop assemblies includes dribble hoses for dribbling a liquid product onto the soil in a rhizosphere of adjacent crop rows. The drop assemblies may include a spray assembly for spraying the row crops. The dribble hoses may be supported by a base unit with positionable support brackets.

Disclosed herein are new tunnel forming shanks and methods of using the same that are configured to lessen the damage done to soil and crops, and to overcome underground obstacles in comparison to prior art tunnel forming shanks.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR AGRICULTURAL MATERIAL APPLICATION
20230309440 · 2023-10-05 ·

An agricultural row unit includes a knife disposed ahead of a wheel for delivering material to soil adjacent to a trench. In one example, an agricultural toolbar includes a frame, a wheel mounted to the frame, and a knife disposed ahead of the wheel and comprising a material delivery conduit disposed on, through, or adjacent the knife.

Seed orientation system for agricultural planters

A seed orientation system for an agricultural planter includes a seed orientation coil assembly defining a helical pathway. As seed from a seed source enters the seed orientation coil assembly air flow from an air source is directed toward the seed causing the seed to orient as the seed moves along the helical pathway toward a seed exit. Upon exiting the seed orientation coil assembly, the seed is deposited into the seed furrow with the seed tip-down and with germ of the seed facing an adjacent seed row. The seed orientation system may be retrofitted onto existing planter row units.

System and method for detecting an operational status of a tool of an agricultural implement based on fluid flow
11619530 · 2023-04-04 · ·

A system for detecting the operational status of ground engaging tools for agricultural implements includes an agricultural implement including a frame and a ground engaging tool coupled to the frame. The system further includes one or more sensors supported relative to the frame. The sensor(s) are configured to capture data indicative of a fluid flow past the ground engaging tool as the agricultural implement is moved across the field. The system further includes a controller configured to monitor the data received from the sensor(s) and identify an operational status of the ground engaging tool based at least in part on a comparison between one or more monitored values associated with the fluid flow past the ground engaging tool as the agricultural implement is moved across the field and a predetermined threshold value.

DEVICE FOR SHAPING A FURROW PROFILE, SENSING SOIL PROPERTIES AND DOSING FLUIDS
20230354736 · 2023-11-09 ·

Device for shaping the profile of a furrow, sensing soil properties and dosing fluids in the soil of an agricultural field, includes a body comprising an upper portion and lower portion defining a right lateral face and a left lateral face that are laterally opposite, a front face and a rear face that are longitudinally opposite, and an upper face and lower face that are vertically opposite, wherein the laterally opposite faces at the lower portion of the body are angled relative to a vertical direction forming a V-shaped profile cross section for V-shaping furrows; damping and biasing means linked to the upper face of the body; a fluid dosing conduit including an inlet and an outlet, and being longitudinally arranged within the body; sensing means on a face of the body for measuring soil properties; and a sensing unit for commanding the sensing means and receiving information thereof.

AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT WITH VISION SENSORS

An agricultural implement broadly includes a ground-engaging tool, a time-of-flight sensor, and a controller. The time-of-flight sensor is configured to obtain information indicative of seed parameters, furrow parameters, and/or soil condition parameters. The controller is configured to process the information obtained by the time-of-flight sensor to generate the parameters, wherein the controller is further configured to automatically control operation of one or more components of the implement based on the parameters.

High speed agricultural seeder

A row unit for a high-speed agricultural seeder includes a leading system including an opener and a dispenser, a trailing system including a leveler and a packer, a primary force generator generating a primary force, and a packer force adjustment system generating a packer adjustment force. The primary force includes opener and trailing force portions that are transferred to the opener and trailing system, respectively. The trailing force portion includes a leveler force portion that is transferred to the leveler and a packer force portion that is transferred to the packer. The packer adjustment force is adjustable independently of the leveler force portion, such that a combined packer force equal to a sum of the packer force portion and the packer adjustment force is adjustable independent of the leveler force portion.
