A construction board comprising (a) a foam core having a first planar surface and a second planar surface; (b) a facer, having first and second planar surfaces, including an inorganic fabric and a coating; and (c) an interfacial region between the foam core and said facer.

Roofing systems and methods

A method includes providing a production line configured for continuous fabrication of polymer or predominantly polymer roofing boards by setting and expansion of precursor materials on a conveyor. A first polymer or predominantly polymer material foam precursor is dispensed to the production line, and allowed to rise and at least partially set to form a foam core layer for an insulation board, the foam core layer for the insulation board having a first density. A second polymer or predominantly polymer material foam precursor is dispensed to the production line and allowed to rise and set to form a core layer for a cover board, the foam core layer for the cover board having a second density greater than the first density. The combined thickness of the foam core layer for the insulation board and the core layer for the cover board is set by constraining the expansion of the combined foam precursors using a downstream forming conveyor disposed above the rising foam precursors.

Method for manufacturing insulated sectional door with extruded spacers

A method is disclosed for making an improved insulated door panel having an outer and inner spaced apart skins and an internal foam core. The insulated door panel includes a first spacer disposed between a top end of the outer skin and a top end of the inner skin and a second spacer disposed between a bottom end of the outer skin and a bottom end of the inner skin. The first and second spacers include first and second protrusions, respectively, on an inner face of the first and second spacers. The first and second protrusions secure the first and second spacers to the foam core.

System and Method for the Production of Gypsum Board Using Starch Pellets

The present invention relates to a system and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets. In accordance with the present disclosure, the starch necessary for board formation is provided in the form of starch pellets. These pellets are mixed with a gypsum slurry in a mixer. The pellets are initially insoluble and do not dissolve. However, during subsequent drying stages, the pellets become soluble and dissolve into the gypsum phase. This both provides the desired starch component and also results in the formation of voids within the set gypsum.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING REINFORCED WEATHERSTRIP

Methods for manufacturing fabric-reinforced weatherstrip include incorporating a fabric application step into a process for making coated substrates. In one embodiment, a strip of the fabric from a roll of material may be applied directly onto a coating after it has been applied in a coat die to a foam profile, while the coating is still in the molten state. Alternatively, a fabric application plate may be attached to an upstream side of coating die with a fabric feed channel cut into the plate. The fabric follows the channel to contact and mate with the foam profile. The fabric applicator plate may be configured so as to exert pressure on only the part of the product where the fabric is being applied. Ultrasonic welding techniques may also be employed.

Method of adhering multiple polyurethane foam layers together
09987822 · 2018-06-05 ·

A method of adhering multiple polyurethane foam layers together sticks a first polyurethane foam layer with a second polyurethane foam layer by using polyurethane system components in polymerization foaming reaction. The method contains steps of: A. delivering the first polyurethane foam layer toward a cladding position; B. cladding or depositing the polyurethane system components on the first polyurethane foam layer at the cladding position so that the polyurethane system components start foaming polymerization on and adhere with the first polyurethane foam layer; C. delivering the polyurethane system components and the first polyurethane foam layer to a press roller so that the polyurethane system components foam to produce the second polyurethane foam layer, and the second polyurethane foam layer adheres with the first polyurethane foam layer; and D. conveying the second polyurethane foam layer and the first polyurethane foam layer away from the press roller.

Membrane roofing

A foam roofing underlayment is provided with a reinforcement membrane having an array of fastener elements for engaging fastener elements on a flexible roof membrane. The underlayment is formed by molding foam between the reinforcement membrane and a carrier membrane. The underlayment in secured to the roof using washers having fastener elements for engaging the fastener elements of the flexible roof membrane. An anti-peel flap with fastener elements is provided around the periphery of the washers. A slip sheet is used between the underlayment and the flexible roof membrane to permit accurate positioning of the flexible roof membrane prior to engagement of the fastener elements. The interstices between the fastener elements provide lateral moisture paths to vents in the flexible roof membrane.
