A method and a device for feeding granular material in an agricultural implement and an agricultural implement comprising such a device. The method includes establishing an air flow through a take-up zone in a direction toward an outlet of the take-up zone from an inlet of the take-up zone. The take-up zone, has an extend which, viewed in a horizontal plane, is defined by a roof above the take-up zone and side walls extending downward from the roof, so that a space, which is open in the downward direction and toward an outlet, is formed between the roof and the side walls. The method also includes feeding the material to the take-up zone with the aid of gravity, so that the material falls in a direction transversely to the airflow into the take-up zone, thus delimiting the space in the downward direction and adjusting an adjustable part which is adjustable between at least two positions, to regulate a flow rate of the airflow in the space between the material and the roof.

The devices, systems, and methods herein use air pressure to dispense seed into the ground in a controlled manner. In certain embodiments, a valve is actuated to push a single seed out of a seed chamber. The seed can be conveyed from the metering housing and through a seed delivery apparatus to the furrow at high speed. The rapid conveyance from the seed chamber to the furrow by the precisely controlled air pulse eliminates the variation from known metering and delivery technologies and enables higher planting speeds.

SPREADING MACHINE

A spreading machine, in particular a precision seed drill, includes at least one seed hopper, at least one fertilizer tank, and a several spreading units. Each of the spreading units includes at least one pneumatically operated separating device, to or from which a separation air flow is suppliable or dischargeable, and a fertilizer application device. The spreading machine includes a conveying air-driven seed feeding device for providing seed from the seed hopper to the spreading units, and an energy-powered fertilizer supply device for providing fertilizer to the fertilizer application devices. To refine a spreading machine that includes a plurality of consumers, it is provided that the spreading machine includes at least two separate energy suppliers, in particular blowers or pumps, for providing the separation air flows to the separating devices, the conveying air to the seed feeding device, and the energy to the fertilizer supply device.

A trench closing sensor adapted to mount to an agricultural implement to detect whether a seed trench is sufficiently closed with soil to ensure good seed to soil contact. The trench closing sensor may also detect the amount of compaction of the soil over the seed within the seed trench. The trench closing sensor may be in the form of a seed firmer from which a drag wire extends. As the open seed trench and drag wire are covered with soil, instrumentation measures or detects whether the seed trench is being adequately closed with soil by measuring the amount of force required to pull the wire through the soil or by measuring the amount of strain, pulling force or tension in the wire or by measuring the amount of soil pressure acting on the wire. The trench closing sensor may include other sensors for detecting soil characteristics.

SEED TRENCH DEPTH DETECTION SYSTEMS

A seed trench depth sensor is adapted to mount to an agricultural implement. The trench depth sensor comprises an elongate member which drags within the seed trench and a second part which detects the distance to the elongate member within the seed trench.

A control device configured to communicate with the aerial vehicle and the distribution device to coordinate the timing that products are discharged and a spacing of a subsequent discharged product relative to the speed of the aerial vehicle. A system, method, and cartridge device associated with the distribution assembly are also contemplated by this disclosure.

A sectional control device controls the flow of particulate material from a meter assembly to a primary manifold of an air seeding system. The sectional control device includes a plate assembly having particulate openings extending between the meter assembly and the primary manifold and a shut-off mechanism configured to control the flow of the particulate material through the particulate openings. The shut-off mechanism includes a gate configured to slide between an open position, where particulate material can flow through the particulate opening, and a closed position, where particulate material is prevented from flowing through the particulate opening. The shut-off mechanism also includes an actuator configured to drive the gate between the open position and the closed position.

First and second of the planting units are configured so that the discharge time intervals for potato seeds from the first planting unit are different than the discharge time intervals for potato seeds from the second planting unit with the potato seed planting apparatus advanced at a first speed in the travel path.

An engine is operated to produce exhaust emissions containing carbon nano soot therein which are injected into a solubilizing tank containing nitic acid and carbonic acid in a water solution for solubilizing the carbon nano soot as carbon nano tubes. A gas flow exiting the tank is captured such that some water and some solubilized carbon nano tubes are carried with the gas flow for subsequent delivery to a plant growing medium, either directly or by storing the water and solubilized carbon nano tubes carried with the gas flow in a tank for subsequent application. The solubilizing tank may be supported on agricultural seeding implements or sprayer implements for direct application to crop covered ground. In an irrigation system, the gas flow from the solubilizing tank is directed towards a condensing tank for subsequent application of the condensate to a plant growing medium with irrigation water.
