A distributing unit (10) for granular material such as seed grains (12), fertilizers or the like is disclosed, in particular a seeding unit (11) of a distributing or seeding machine. The unit (10) comprises a housing (14) with at least one inlet opening (18) for conveying granular material or conveyed seed grains (12) and an outlet opening (26) and also a rotating conveying device (24) with at least one rotating conveying element (28) for taking hold of the granular material or the seed grains (12), which conveying element is arranged or extends approximately axially with respect to the housing (14). The grains are held by centrifugal forces on an inner lateral surface region (16) of the housing (14), are crowded together there and are aligned with respect to one another and are ordered in a line or are rowed at an angle which corresponds to an angular position between the lateral surface and the radial conveying element (28), with the result that in each case only one single grain (12) at the end of the row extends in a predefined path along the lateral surface (16) and, at the end of the separation process, leaves the outlet opening (26) approximately tangentially.

Spreading machine

A spreading machine, in particular a precision seed drill, includes at least one seed hopper, at least one fertilizer tank, and several spreading units. Each of the spreading units includes at least one pneumatically operated separating device, to or from which a separation air flow is suppliable or dischargeable, and a fertilizer application device. The spreading machine includes a conveying air-driven seed feeding device for providing seed from the seed hopper to the spreading units, and an energy-powered fertilizer supply device for providing fertilizer to the fertilizer application devices. To refine a spreading machine that includes a plurality of consumers, the spreading machine includes at least two separate energy suppliers, in particular blowers or pumps, for providing the separation air flows to the separating devices, the conveying air to the seed feeding device, and the energy to the fertilizer supply device.

The planter also includes a seed guide having an aperture in fluid communication with the seed conduit, the seed guide defining a second portion of the flow path configured to transport the seeds from the seed conduit towards the ground, and a shaft configured to reciprocate with respect to the seed guide through a stroke path towards and away from the ground. The shaft is configured to create a discrete hole in the ground for one of the seeds. A side of the shaft is configured to inhibit the one of the seeds from entering the second portion of the flow path until the shaft retracts past the aperture.
