Insulation injection device
A thermal insulation injection gun includes a pointed nozzle that prevents blocking of the nozzle by a distal panel of a building cavity and/or by pre-existing insulation within the cavity. In embodiments, the pointed nozzle can be pressed through a panel, thereby forming the injection hole. An enhancement port can be provided through which an enhancing material such as a carrier fluid, particulate or fibrous insulating material, a binder, or a fire retardant can be added and mixed with the insulating material. Embodiments include expanding nozzle wings that can compress pre-existing insulation to create a space on a proximal or distal side thereof for injecting the insulation. A compressible sheath installed over the nozzle can prevent dripping of excess insulation from the panel hole. Exchangeable collars can be used to fix an insertion depth of the nozzle and/or to block selected lateral dispensing ports of the nozzle.
Plug for use in a process of forming an insulated register box
A plug for use in a process of forming an insulated register box has a body with at least one side wall, a bottom wall and a top edge. The insulated register box has a box and a duct extending outwardly therefrom. The duct has a portion extending into an interior of the box. The body has a ledge extending outwardly of the top edge thereof. The bottom wall is adapted to abut an end of the portion of the duct. The ledge is adapted to abut an end of the box opposite the duct. A gasket is affixed to the bottom wall of the body. This gasket is adapted to abut the end of the portion of the gasket. The gasket is of a polymeric or elastomeric material.
FIRE-PROTECTION ELEMENT AS WELL AS METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FIRE-PROTECTION ELEMENT
A fire-protection element can be formed to accommodate a line penetration. The fire-protection element includes a substantially cylindrical housing, which has an inner side that defines a duct for at least one line and/or one pipe, where an intumescent material is sprayed directly onto at least portions of the inner side of the housing.
INSULATED REGISTER BOX AND PROCESS FOR FORMING SUCH INSULATED REGISTER BOX
A register box for an HVAC installation has a body with a plurality of side panels arranged in a generally rectangular or square configuration and a plurality of flanges extending inwardly from the plurality of side panels, an expandable polymeric material affixed to an inner side of each of the plurality of side panels such that the expandable polymeric material has a portion extending across one end of the body inwardly of the plurality of flanges, and a sheet positioned over the portion of the expandable polymeric material at the one end of the body such that the sheet is interposed between the plurality of flanges and the portion of the expandable polymeric material. The expandable polymeric material and the sheet are cuttable so as to open to the interior of the register box.
Polymer foam system and method
A system for producing foams for prosthetics and orthotics include a heated housing that stores monomer containers, temperature-controlled hoses separately coupled with the containers and configured to receive monomers from the containers, a dispensing gun assembly fluidly coupled with the containers by the hoses, and a computer controller configured to control a dispensing time period during which the monomers are dispensed from the containers and through the hoses to the dispensing gun assembly and dispensed out of the dispensing gun assembly as a polymer foam. The controller is configured to stop dispensing of the polymer foam out of the dispensing gun assembly upon expiration of the dispensing time period.
Conveyor process for forming an insulated register box
A process for forming an insulated register box having a body and a duct in which an expandable polymeric material is introduced into the interior of the body. The body is placed onto a support, a plug is positioned into an interior of the body such that the expandable polymeric material expands between the back wall of the body and the plurality of side panels and the plug, positioning the assembly between a pair of conveyors such that the pair of conveyors holds the assembly tightly sandwiched therebetween, and conveying the assembly to another position adjacent an opposite end of the pair of conveyors.
FLAT FAN SPRAYING APPARATUS FOR THE DISPENSING OF ULTRA-HIGH FAST SET TWO COMPONENT MATERIALS
In an air-operated plural component mixing and dispensing assembly, including a sliding mixing and dispensing element that forms, with a pair of component inlet blocks, the valves controlling the mixing and dispensing of the plural component materials, the mixing and dispensing element includes a rearward part and a forward part which together form a mixing chamber, with admission passages for the plural components to be mixed in the rearward part and a dispensing orifice for mixed plural component material in the forward part, also including a shaping air assembly with an air inlet, a nozzle air manifold with internal air passageways to one or more impinging air outlets, wherein the shaping air assembly is configured to shape the spray pattern of the dispensed plural component material hydrostatically.
Process for forming a register box that is adaptable to ductwork of an HVAC system
A process for forming a register box has a body formed with a plurality of side panels arranged in a generally square or rectangular configuration with a wall extending transverse to the side panels. A plurality of circular areas are cut into the wall. An expandable polymeric foam material is introduced into an interior of the body. The body is positioned in a fixture such that the wall is juxtaposed against a surface of the fixture. A plug is inserted into the interior of the body. The expandable polymeric foam material is expanded in the interior of the body such that the expandable polymeric foam material solidifies across the wall and around the plug. The plug is then removed from the body and the body is then removed from the fixture.
Method For Producing A Lining Part For A Vehicle, And Lining Part Produced Using Said Method
In a method for producing a lining part, in particular for the interior of a vehicle, a support substrate is positioned opposite a flexible decorative layer with the interposition of a foam coating, and the support substrate is adhesively connected thereto, wherein the raw foam compound used to form the foam layer is foamed using a gas as a physical blowing agent and is applied onto the rear face of the decorative layer and/or the support substrate face facing the decorative layer in the form of an expanded foam. As long as the expanded foam coating is still flowable, the support substrate is positioned at a defined distance to the rear face of the decorative layer with the interposition of the expanded foam coating so that the decorative layer is connected to the support substrate by the foam coating and is held until the cross-linking process of the foam coating has at least mostly concluded, wherein a part of the foam layer which fills the original distance between the decorative layer and the support substrate is displaced and plastically compressed at least in some regions by the support substrate during the process of positioning same.
