A system for planting cover crop seeds in fields with standing row crops, including a high-clearance agricultural vehicle with a high-clearance toolbar, soil sealers, and a seeder with a reciprocator above the soil sealers to deliver various types of seeds onto the disrupted soil after which the soil sealers cover the seeds with soil.

Debris removal system for an agricultural metering system

A meter roller for an agricultural metering system includes multiple flutes and corresponding recesses. The flutes and the corresponding recesses are configured to meter flowable particulate material from a storage tank to a material distribution system via rotation of the meter roller. The meter roller also includes multiple air passages formed within a body of the meter roller. Each air passage is fluidly coupled to a central cavity of the meter roller and extends to a base of a respective recess, and the air passage is configured to flow air from the central cavity into the respective recess.

The present invention is directed to a seed discharge system is that employs a pair of rotating belts spaced from one another to receive the seeds from a seed metering device and to direct the seeds into the desired location within a trench over which the discharge system is positioned. The seeds are received within a gap formed between the belts and are clamped and held between the belts as the belts move, consequently moving the seeds from the seed metering device to the discharge opening of the discharge system. The constant engagement of the seeds with the belts through the discharge system prevents the seeds from bouncing, thereby maintaining a constant residence time for the seeds within the discharge system.

A row planter assembly having offset track assemblies, a downforce control assembly, a furrow assembly, a seed metering assembly, and a seed delivery assembly.

Seed characteristic sensor

Seed meters, agricultural planters, and methods of planting seed may include a housing defining a chamber, a seed disc rotatably coupled to the housing and at least partially positioned within the chamber with the seed disc adapted to engage a seed, and a sensor for detecting a characteristic of the seed after the seed disengages the seed disc and before the seed exits the seed meter. The sensor may be coupled to a seed chute of the seed meter and may detect a wide variety of seed characteristics such as seed position within the seed chute, seed size, and seed shape. The seed characteristic may be used to adjust operation of the seed meters, agricultural planters, and methods. In some instances, the adjustment may be manual. In other instances, the adjustment may be automatic.

A single-grain seeder including a chassis that supports at least one seeding element including a dispensing housing, at least one opening disk for opening a furrow in the ground, and at least one depth control wheel, the dispensing housing delivering seeds one by one via a rotary dosing element configured to turn about a rotation axis, each seed being ejected from the rotary dosing element at an ejection point extending in a lower portion of the rotary dosing element. The ejection point is disposed in an external diameter of the opening disk, when viewed along the rotation axis of the rotary dosing element.

Method and System for Placement of Single Seeds One by One
20220039311 · 2022-02-10 ·

A method for placement of seeds one by one onto a growth medium, whereby initially seeds are extracted and singled-out from a disorderly group of seeds is disclosed. The method comprises: placement of the disorderly group of seeds onto a seed wheel which has a wheel plane, wherein the wheel plane is angled with respect to a horizontal plane such that single seeds are allowed to enter openings in the seed wheel which openings are distanced from a rotation axis of the seed wheel, whereby the seed wheel is rotated around the rotation axis which axis is perpendicular to the wheel plane thereby elevating a single seed in each opening out of the group of seeds and allowing singled-out seeds in each opening to leave the opening at a predetermined rotational position of the seed wheel and fall or trickle down a tube or chute onto a growth medium.
