SELECTABLE METER OR INDUCTOR FEED FOR SEEDS
20220264788 · 2022-08-25 ·

An agricultural product distribution apparatus includes a primary product container mounted on a product cart and a secondary product container. A metering device and a primary inductor assembly are mounted to the primary product container and a control system controls dispensing of products from the primary product container either through the metering device directly to furrow openers, or through the inductor assembly to the secondary product container and then through a secondary inductor assembly to downstream singulating meters. The secondary product container can be mounted on the implement frame or the product cart. A plurality of primary product containers can be mounted on the product cart each with a metering device and primary inductor assembly such that each tank can dispense through either of the corresponding metering devices or primary inductor assemblies.

SEED PLACEMENT DEVICE

A seed placement device connected to a machine to transfer seed to a furrow includes a housing having a first opening through which seed is received and a second opening through which seed is discharged. An endless member positioned within the housing, and a drive member that controls movement of the endless member in cooperation with movement of the machine. The machine operates in a seeding direction at a travel speed, and the endless member discharges seed at a discharge speed and in a discharge direction. The discharge direction is approximately opposite to the seeding direction, and the discharge speed of the seed is at least 1.2 times the travel speed of the machine.

An apparatus and methods for delivering seed from a metering device to a furrow. In one embodiment, a seed meter entrains and releases seed from a seed disc at a seed release location. The released seed is directed into a seed conveyor by a loading wheel. The seed conveyor conveys the seed toward the soil and releases the seed with a rearward relative velocity.

Method and System for Placement of Single Seeds One by One
20220039311 · 2022-02-10 ·

A method for placement of seeds one by one onto a growth medium, whereby initially seeds are extracted and singled-out from a disorderly group of seeds is disclosed. The method comprises: placement of the disorderly group of seeds onto a seed wheel which has a wheel plane, wherein the wheel plane is angled with respect to a horizontal plane such that single seeds are allowed to enter openings in the seed wheel which openings are distanced from a rotation axis of the seed wheel, whereby the seed wheel is rotated around the rotation axis which axis is perpendicular to the wheel plane thereby elevating a single seed in each opening out of the group of seeds and allowing singled-out seeds in each opening to leave the opening at a predetermined rotational position of the seed wheel and fall or trickle down a tube or chute onto a growth medium.

Walk-behind power seeder

A power seeder may include a frame, one or more wheels, one or more blades capable of cutting into soil, an engine capable of powering the one or more blades, and a seed hopper. The seed hopper may have an opening capable of dispensing seed located forward of the one or more blades. The one or more blades may rotate in an opposite direction to a forward rotation of the one or more wheels. In some embodiments, the seeder may further include a handle for adjusting the height of the one or more blades, a plurality of interlocking teeth, and a spring. The spring may provide a load to counteract the force of gravity on the one or more blades. The aerator may also include a flap located between the opening and the one or more blades.
