Adhesive compositions based on grafted resins
A curable adhesive that is particularly well suited for use in an injection or compression molding operation. The adhesive is based on polymeric resins having carboxylic acid and acrylate ester functionality, such as grafted phenoxy resin, and further constituents such as organic carbonates, blocked isocyanates, catalysts, maleimide compounds, hydride sources, and a carrier fluid. The curable adhesives are particularly well suited for bonding liquid injectable substrates such as liquid silicone rubber, or polyamides to rigid substrates, such as aluminum, stainless steel, or glass.
Method of manufacturing composite molded body
There is provided a method of manufacturing a composite molded body that can increase a processing speed and a joining strength in a different direction. The method of manufacturing a composite molded body in which a metal molded body and a resin molded body are joined, includes the steps of: continuously irradiating a joint surface of the metal molded body with laser light at an irradiation speed of 2,000 mm/sec or more by using a continuous-wave laser; and arranging, within a mold, a portion of the metal molded body including the joint surface irradiated with the laser light in the preceding step and performing injection molding of a resin forming the resin molded body, or performing compression molding in a state where a portion of the metal molded body including the joint surface irradiated with the laser light in the preceding step and a resin forming the resin molded body are made to contact with each other.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SANDWICH PANEL FOR A VEHICLE AND A SANDWICH PANEL FOR A VEHICLE
A method for manufacturing a sandwich panel for a vehicle includes: etching a sheet, which etches one surface of a metal sheet; pressing the sheet, which forms a pattern of a specific shape on the one surface of the metal sheet; laminating a pair of the metal sheets; and performing injection-molding by injecting a plastic resin into the laminated pair of the metal sheets. The method may improve the bonding performance of the sandwich panel, thereby improving the degree of freedom of shape due to the press-molding.
POLYAMIDE COMPOSITIONS HAVING HIGH ADHESION TO METAL AND USE THEREOF
A composition including from: a) 35% to 100% by weight of at least one semicrystalline aliphatic polyamide and/or one polyamide of formula MXDZ wherein MXD is meta-xylylenediamine and Z is a C6 to C12 aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, the semicrystalline aliphatic polyamide and/or the polyamide of formula MXDZ having a total acidity between from 70 to 180 μeq/g and a total basicity of less than 100 μeq/g; b) 0 to 25% by weight of polyolefins; c) 0 to 60% by weight, of glass fibers; d) 0 to 2% by weight of at least one additive; e) 0 to 30% by weight of at least one flame retardant; the sum a)+b)+c)+d)+e) being equal to 100%, the semicrystalline aliphatic polyamide and/or the polyamide of formula MXDZ having a melt flow index (MFI) between from 4 to 50 g/10 min.
Method for preparing a two-component article and article obtainable by the method
A method for preparing an article includes at least a first component of a polyolefin in conjunction with a second component of a polymer made by ring-opening metathesis polymerisation of norbornene type monomers. The method includes pre-treating a surface of the first component, applying a ring-opening metathesis polymerisable mixture of norbornene type monomers and a catalyst to the surface, and curing the ring-opening metathesis polymerisable mixture in contact with the surface, wherein the ring-opening metathesis polymerisable mixture has a η.sub.1000 at 30° C. of more than 9 sec. Articles such as a pipe line field joint or a protective element for a concrete tunnel lining element can be made using the method.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING OPTICAL SILICONE ASSEMBLY, AND OPTICAL SILICONE ASSEMBLY PRODUCED THEREBY
A method for producing an optical silicone assembly is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: i) treating a surface of a substrate with an optically clear silicone adhesive composition; ii) placing the substrate obtained by step i) into a mold; iii-a) injecting an optically clear moldable silicone composition into the mold, and/or iii-b) overmolding the optically clear moldable silicone composition onto the substrate; and then iv) heating the optically clear moldable silicone composition to form the optical silicone assembly. The optical silicone assembly produced by the method of this disclosure is characterized by excellent adhesion of an optical silicone product to various types of substrates.

A brush head (32) including: a supporting portion (42) of a brush neck (40); a plurality of bristle tufts (21), each of which comprises a plurality of bristle strands having a proximal end (23) and a free end (25), wherein each of the plurality of bristle tufts comprises a proximal end head portion (26) melted into a first shape within a mold; and an elastomeric matrix (30) comprising at least a portion of the hard brush neck and the proximal end head portions, wherein the first shape of the proximal end head portion is configured to engage the elastomeric matrix such that the bristle tufts are retained within the elastomeric matrix.

A surface roughness measured regarding six linear portions in total including three arbitrary linear portions parallel with each other and another three arbitrary linear portions perpendicular to the former three linear portions on a surface (110) of the metal member (103), based on JIS B0601 (corresponding international standard: ISO4287) satisfies both Requirements (1) and (2). (1) An average value of ten point average roughnesses (Rz) at an evaluated length of 4 mm is smaller than 20 μm. (2) An average value of mean width of the profile elements (RSm) at an evaluated length of 4 mm is equal to or greater than 20 μm and smaller than 77 μm.
Injection molded composite blank and guide
This specification discloses an article of manufacture. The article of manufacture has at least one structural blank and at least one guide. The structural blank has a plurality of oriented fiber plies in a thermoplastic matrix. The guide has a plurality of random dispersed fibers in a thermoplastic matrix. The guide is affixed to the structural blank by injection molding and over molding the guide onto the structural blank. The article of manufacture can take a number of forms for use in industries such as aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, trains or watercraft.
