Magnet fastener assembly and base therefor with relatively rigid upstanding doghouse on a relatively flexible support
A magnet fastener assembly includes a base, a magnet carrier held in the base and a magnet held in the magnet carrier. The base includes a one-piece body having an upstanding doghouse on a support. The support is made from a first material and the doghouse is made from a second material. The first material has more flexibility than the second material and the second material has a greater rigidity than the first material.
SUPPORT MEMBER FOR VEHICLE CENTER CONSOLE LID
A center console for a vehicle includes a bin having a sidewall that defines an inner cavity. The sidewall has an interior surface and an exterior surface. A lid is rotatably coupled to the bin. The lid is operable between a lowered position enclosing the inner cavity and a raised position. The lid includes a body having a bottom surface. A support member is disposed on the bottom surface of the body. The support member includes a protrusion and a bumper. The protrusion and the bumper are coupled together via a connector.
METHODS OF OVERMOLDING SOFTER MATERIAL WITH HARDER MATERIAL AND MOISTURE TIGHT CONTAINER ASSEMBLIES MADE BY THE METHODS
A method of over-molding materials includes: providing a first material in a groove in a first portion of a mold such that only a single surface of the first material is exposed to a vacant portion of the mold; providing, via an injection molding process, a second material in a liquid form in the vacant portion of the mold adjacent to, and in engagement with, the first material; and allowing the second material to solidify and become directly coupled to the first material, thus forming a single component. During the method, the entire single surface of the first material is flush with a plane defined by outer surface of the first portion of the mold. The second material has one or both of a greater hardness when solidified than the first material and/or a higher melting temperature than the first material.
Leaf screen and method of making the leaf screen with co-molded seal and bump stop
A leaf screen for an air intake of an HVAC system of a vehicle having a hood covering an engine compartment. The leaf screen includes a leaf screen body defining an air inlet opening covered by an integrally molded screen. A seal is integrally molded on a top surface of the leaf screen body in front of the air inlet opening. Bump-stops are integrally molded on the top surface that are engaged by an inner panel of the hood when closed. A method of making the leaf screen includes injecting a polymeric material into a mold to form a body portion. At least one elastomeric material is injected into the mold on one side of the body portion to form a seal and a plurality of bump-stops.
Multilayered injection molded interlace-like article and method for molding same
Provided is a panel, an article including such a panel and method of its manufacture, where the panel includes a base layer having a first face and a second face, integrally sandwiched between a first exterior layer applied over the first face, and a second exterior layer applied over the second face. In addition, the bulging portions of the base layer projecting from the first face and the second face are exposed through respective openings at the first exterior layer and the second exterior layer, extending in register with said bulging portions.

At least one elastomeric material is injected into the mold on one side of the body portion to form a seal and a plurality of bump-stops.
Method of manufacturing slim foam pad for vehicle seats and slim foam pad for vehicle seats manufactured using the same
A method of manufacturing a slim foam pad for vehicle seats, may include injecting a first foam solution into a first mold to manufacture an upper pad; inserting the manufactured upper pad into a second mold; and injecting a second foam solution to a first surface of the upper pad inserted into the second mold to manufacture a lower pad integrally coupled to the upper pad, wherein the second foam solution is foamed in a state of being in direct contact with the first surface of the upper pad, wherein no additional border separation member is provided at a border between the upper pad and the lower pad.
Image recording system and a motor vehicle
An image recording system, for example of a motor vehicle, includes a carrier plate, an optics holder with a through hole of which one side is closed by a surface of the carrier plate, and an image recorder situated on the carrier plate surface, a needle channel that extends through the optics holder from the through hole to an outer side of the optics holder and that is suitable for, after the optics holder has been manufactured, injection molding of an encapsulation that forms an optical lens of the image recorder without having to protect a surface of the encapsulation during the manufacturing of the optics holder. Manufacturing of a microstructured protective lens directly after manufacturing of the optics holder on the same injection mold is thus enabled.
