FOAM MOLDING MANUFACTURING METHOD
20180304510 · 2018-10-25 ·

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a molded foam product which can reduce blisters on the surface and foaming failure in injection molding of a molten resin containing a fluid in a supercritical state even in the case of manufacturing a molded product designed to have a small thickness, thereby giving a molded foam product having excellent heat insulation. The method of the present invention is a method for manufacturing a molded foam product through injection molding of a molten resin containing a fluid in a supercritical state, the method including a step of injecting the molten resin into a cavity formed in a mold and moving a portion of the mold to increase the volume of the cavity before the molten resin injected into the cavity completely solidifies, the cavity being communicated only with a single resin injection port, the mold having a dimple which has a substantially hemispherical shape and is situated to face the resin injection port, the mold having a minimum gap size of 0.2 mm or greater in the cavity during injection of the molten resin.

METHOD OF INJECTION MOLDING USING RIBS AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

A method of injection molding parts, including: injecting a first thermoplastic polymer into a first cavity; forming a ribbed structure comprising ribs in the first cavity, wherein each rib in the ribbed structure includes a microstructure on an outer portion of a rib; and reducing the surface imperfections in the part by overmolding a layer formed in the second cavity onto a portion of a rib by injecting a second thermoplastic polymer into the second cavity, wherein the overmolding occurs at an interface between the layer and the ribbed structure; or injecting a first thermoplastic polymer into a first cavity; forming a layer in the first cavity; and overmolding a ribbed structure comprising ribs formed in the second cavity onto a portion of the layer formed in the first cavity. In further variations gas is injected into a microchannel formed at the interface or a foaming agent is applied in the first thermoplastic polymer.

Method for simultaneous closed loop control of gas assist and gas counter pressure in an injection molding process relative to plastic melt pressure and plastic melt flow position

A controller for an injection molding system is in communication with a melt flow control unit, a gas assist control unit, and a gas counter pressure control unit. The controller can effect real-time adjustments to gas assist pressure and/or gas counter pressure as a function of melt pressure or flow front position.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING BENT RESIN PIPE
20240326304 · 2024-10-03 ·

A production method and device for a curved resin pipe via resin injection molding that uses an assist material. An inner curve part and/or an outer curve part of a pre-selected curved section of a cavity which is formed in a mold is configured from a temperature-adjustable piece section. After molten resin is injected into the cavity from an injection molding device, the temperature of the piece section is controlled by a control unit such that the inner curve part has a lower temperature than the outer curve part, and an assist material is injected into the cavity from an assist material injection unit and is passed through the cavity so as to form a pipe path. The resin remaining in the cavity is cured to produce a curved resin pipe.

A co-injection molding apparatus may mold an injection product that includes a skin layer forming an outer surface by a first material and a core layer surrounded by the skin layer and having an interior formed by a second material. The co-injection molding apparatus may include an injection mold configured to form an injection space to be injection molded by the first material and the second material, a first injector configured to inject the first material, a second injector configured to inject the second material different from the first material and positioned between the first injector and the injection mold, and a runner configured to connect the first injector, the second injector, and the injection mold.

RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR
20180223825 · 2018-08-09 · ·

A reciprocating compressor and a method of manufacturing a reciprocating compressor. The reciprocating compressor may include a discharge muffler forming a discharge chamber in which refrigerant compressed in a compression chamber flows and a discharge hose that extends from the discharge muffler to guide discharge of the refrigerant and coupled to the discharge pipe. At least a portion of the discharge muffler and the discharge hose are integrally formed using injection molding.

Height adjustable bike

Described herein is a bike including a frame member linking the front and rear wheel(s) made up of a first forward section or sections extending from the front wheel(s) and a second rear section or sections extending from the rear wheel(s). The section endings mate about a lockable connection assembly that is also in communication with a seat-post connected to the seat. The frame sections pivot about a connection assembly axis in a direction perpendicular to the bike frame and the seat-post is able to be moved independent of the frame sections. A key advantage of the above bike is the high range of height adjustability allowing the bike to be used by range of different sized users. Height adjustment is also very easy and may be done toolessly. Further, maintaining the seat in a desired riding alignment independent of frame movement is important otherwise the rider position will change relative to the handlebars leading in extreme cases to falls from the bike. Use of gas assisted injection molding in bike manufacture is also described.

LOAD BEARING PANEL MEMBER

A load bearing panel member having a first portion, a second portion, and an appearance surface portion is formed by injection molding such that the first portion includes a plurality of ribs forming a grid pattern on the first portion and another plurality of ribs extending toward the periphery of the first portion which may be non-orthogonal to each other and to the ribs forming the grid pattern. An internal channel may be formed within each of the non-orthogonal ribs by injecting a gas into the rib during the molding process forming the panel. An appearance surface portion attached to the first portion and second portion of the panel member forms an integral hinge between the first and second portions of the panel member. The panel member may be configured as a floor panel of a vehicle.
