METHOD FOR THE INJECTION MOLDING OF INTERNALLY HOLLOW PARTS
A method for the injection molding of internally hollow parts includes the steps of: injecting melt of thermoplastic material in the inner space between a punch and a matrix; opening a valve in order to place the inner space in communication with a secondary compartment; stopping the injection of the melt and opening a valve for supplying nitrogen in the inner space in order to create a cavity within the part being molded; stopping the supply of nitrogen and simultaneous perforation of the part being molded in the section of the connecting duct for the outflow of nitrogen from the mold and the subsequent possible collection thereof; and supplying pressurized air for washing towards the atmosphere after stopping the supply of nitrogen and the simultaneous perforation of the part being molded in the section of the connecting duct.
Techniques for coating pipes
A thermoplastics injection molding process coats a field joint of a pipeline by positioning a mold tool around the field joint to define a mold cavity. Thermoplastics material injected into the mold cavity forms a field joint coating that will set in the mold cavity. As the thermoplastics material shrinks in the mold cavity while the field joint coating sets, compacting pressure is applied radially inwardly within the mold cavity against a radially outer side of the field joint coating. A compacting fluid introduced into the mold cavity between the mold tool and the field joint coating may be used to apply pressure against the field joint coating. This accelerates and controls cooling of the field joint coating while maximizing quality.
WHEEL COMPONENT, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING, AND TOOL DEVICE
A wheel component, method, and tool device for a bicycle, including a plurality of integrally interconnected component parts, which form a spoked rim, wherein the rim and spokes are manufactured of a fibrous composite material by an injection molding process with fluid injection, wherein the liquefied fibrous composite material is injected into a cavity of a tool device, and a fluid is injected into the partially liquid fibrous composite material within the cavity to form at least one hollow space within the component part. A further component part forming a spoke, is manufactured by an injection molding process, wherein a mold core device for forming a hollow space within the spoke is disposed within a further cavity of the tool device. The fibrous composite material is injected into the further cavity. The mold core device is retracted from the fibrous composite material to form a cavity in the spoke.
METHOD OF FILLING COOLING HOLES IN AN AIRFOIL COMPONENT
In an aspect, a method of filling a plurality of cooling holes in an airfoil component, the method comprises injecting a curable composition into a fill channel such that the curable composition flows through the fill channel to the plurality of cooling holes; forming a plurality of beads of the curable composition on a surface of the component over the plurality of cooling holes; directing a radiation to the respective beads in directions parallel to the respective central axes of the cooling holes associated with the respective beads to cure curable composition of the respective beads; and heating the component to cure the curable composition located in the fill channel.
