Sequential Injection to Multiple Mold Cavities
An injection molding apparatus, comprising: an injection molding machine; a distribution manifold having a distribution channel, a clamp device arranged to clamp together, under a selected clamp force, a mold system having a plurality of mold cavities one or more first downstream channels fluidly coupled to the distribution channel; one or more first gates arranged to deliver injection fluid to a first cavity; one or more second downstream channels fluidly coupled to the distribution channel; one or more second gates arranged to deliver injection fluid to a second cavity; a control system adapted to: instruct the first upstream valve and a second upstream valve; and at least one downstream valve having a valve pin having a control surface for controlling flow of injection fluid.
Modular injection molding barrel and screw assemblies
A modular barrel and screw assembly for use in injection molding including a barrel having a barrel body, a separate barrel injection portion and a separate barrel end cap, with the barrel end cap being removably connected to the barrel injection portion and the barrel injection portion being removably connected to the barrel body, and a screw assembly having a screw tip assembly removably connected to a screw portion, wherein an injection chamber having a shot volume is defined by the barrel injection portion, the barrel end cap and the screw tip assembly. The modular barrel and screw assembly enables servicing of the barrel injection portion, barrel end cap and/or screw tip assembly without requiring removal of the barrel body, and enables use of a plurality of alternative corresponding separate barrel injection portions, separate barrel end caps and tip assemblies that provide a plurality of different shot volumes.

System for controlling the closing speed of valve gated nozzles
Systems and methods for controlling the closing speed of valve gated nozzles are disclosed. In one embodiment, a hot runner have a valve gated nozzle including a valve stem movable between an open position and a closed position is provided. The valve stem is moved at a first speed for a first portion of valve stem closure and a second speed for a second end portion of the valve stem closure.

FIBER REINFORCED PLENUM FOR LIMITED-SLIP DIFFERENTIAL
A net-shaped composite plenum housing body for a differential assembly having a pump is disclosed. The plenum housing body can include a low pressure inlet and a high pressure outlet configured to receive a control valve. The plenum housing body can also define a fluid inlet channel in fluid communication with the low pressure inlet via a first internal port and can be configured to be in fluid communication with an inlet side of the pump when the plenum housing body is assembled onto the differential assembly. The plenum housing body can also define a fluid outlet channel in fluid communication with the high pressure outlet via a second internal port and can be configured to be in fluid communication with an outlet side of the pump when the plenum housing body is assembled onto the differential assembly. The plenum housing body can also be formed as a net-shape fiber reinforced plastic material including chopped fibers, for example, chopped fiberglass fibers, and an epoxy resin.

Apparatus for the injection moulding of articles formed by plastic materials having different characteristics
The injection moulding of articles formed by plastic materials having different characteristics, for example of different colours, is carried out in a single injection cycle in which the first and the second plastic materials are injected into a first and into a second zone of a mould cavity by first and second injectors controlled according to specific modes so as to define a shape and/or a position of a weld line.
