RTM Tool with Sealing System
The subject matter of the present invention pertains to a RTM tool having a sealing system. This sealing system comprises an elastic sealing strip which is disposed in an undercut manner in one of at least two tool parts to be sealed. It is characterized in that the sealing strip is essentially stressed perpendicular to the sealing strip surface when the tool parts are closed by means of the part of the tool pressing on the sealing strip and deforming it into the sealing gap which is present, in the direction of the mould cavity. The sealing strip comes into contact with the moulding compound without forming a mechanical connection therewith.

A molding process according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes injecting a first molding material into a mold cavity of a mold, the mold cavity formed by at least a mold cavity portion of a first platen and a second platen when the first platen is in contact with the second platen; opening the mold by separating the first and second platens; placing a second molding material at the first molding material while the first molding material remains with the first platen or the second platen; sealing a space between the first and second platens; removing a gas from the space while the space is sealed; and closing the mold while the space is sealed.
Injection molding apparatus
An apparatus for injecting a molten plastic material into a mold is described. The apparatus includes a heated manifold (manifold) with channels to distribute molten material inside it, and a heated injector, to inject molten material to the mold cavity, equipped with a translatable shutter to regulate the flow of the injected molten material. An actuator is attached to the manifold to receive molten material from it to send to the injector and move the shutter. The actuator includes a piston connected to the plug, and a first conduit to bring a pressurized fluid from the outside to the piston. A plate includes a second internal conduit to bring pressurized fluid to the injector, where a gap separates the plate and the actuator. A connecting member is mounted to cross the gap and carry pressurized fluid from the plate to the actuator.
Mold tool for injection molding
An injection-molding tool comprising at least two separate mold parts arranged so that they can be moved along a central tool axis between a closed and an open position. At least one of the mold parts comprises an alignment compensator with a first and a second compensator part. The first compensator part has a socket adapted for receiving the second compensator part so that it can slide along the central tool axis in the socket, and for allowing the second compensator part to tilt in the socket. A seal is arranged so that the seal and the first and the second compensator part encloses a space in the socket containing an elastic or fluid material. The seal also comprises a lid made from a plastic material arranged between the second compensator part and the liquid filled space in the socket.
