A two-color molding die includes: a fixed primary die; a fixed secondary die; and a movable die. The fixed primary die includes a first concave portion. The movable die includes a second concave portion facing the first concave portion, and a core pin that protrudes from a base end surface of the second concave portion toward a base end surface of the first concave portion to form a tubular primary molding cavity between the core pin and the first concave portion and the second concave portion. The fixed secondary die includes a third concave portion configured to form a concave secondary molding cavity.
APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR MOLDING BOTTLE PREFORMS
A process for molding one or more bottle preforms, wherein molten plastic is injected into at least one molding cavity; and wherein air is drawn from the at least one molding cavity, through at least one channel for the air to pass from the at least one molding cavity towards the outside of the molding device, by means of suction means; and apparatus and device for performing such a process.
Molding system with movable split mold inserts
Disclosed herein, amongst other things, is, a stripper assembly operable to eject a molded article from a mold that includes slides that are movable laterally relative to each, a first split mold insert inter-connected to a first slide and a second split mold insert inter-connected to a second slide. The system being operable such that when the first and second slides are in the closed position, the first and second split mold inserts form at least a portion of the molding cavity; the system being operable such that such during operation of the injection molding system, the first split mold insert is movable relative to the respective first slide and the second split mold insert being movable relative to the second slide.
Reusable drinking straw
A drinking straw has an elongated body with a longitudinal flow channel. The user end of the body is closed and rounded for safety. A pair of lateral channels open onto the body adjacent the user end and provide fluid communication to the flow channel. The straw is injection molded, and a mold is provided which accommodates thermal expansion of a rod forming the flow channel. A pair of opposed cavity inserts form the lateral channels. To reduce bending stresses on the rod upon removal of the cavity inserts, one cavity insert is formed longer to the other. This longer cavity insert is removed prior to opening of the mold plates, and as such the straw and rod are supported against bending during this removal.
OPTIMIZED INJECTION MOLD PLATE, AND INJECTION MOLD COMPRISING SAME
An injection moulding tool plate for use in an injection moulding tool for producing a plurality v of preforms having a plurality of handling elements arranged in columns and rows, wherein the distance r between adjacent handling elements within the rows is greater than the distance s between adjacent handling elements within the columns, characterized in that the distance s is less than 50 mm.
INJECTION MOLD FOR TUBULAR PLASTIC PARTS
An injection mold (1) for the manufacturing of at least one tubular plastic part comprising a first mold half (2) comprising a first mold plate (3) and a second mold half (4) comprising a second mold plate (5) being arranged displaceable with respect to each other in an axial direction (Z) between an open position and a closed position. The injection mold further comprises at least one core (6) protruding from the first mold plate (3) and the second mold plate (4) comprising at least one cavity (7) suitable to receive the core (6) of the first mold half (2) to form a molding cavity (8) in the closed position of the injection mold (1) for receiving molten plastic material therein to form the tubular plastic part. A bushing (9) is advantageously arranged in the second mold half (4) adjacent to a dorsal end (10) of the cavity (7) at least partially displaceable with respect to the second mold plate (4), said bushing (9) comprising a bore (11) in a closed position of the injection mold (1) suitable to receive a tip (12) of the core (6).
MOLDING APPARATUS AND METHODS
A plastic molding system comprises: dispensing, pre-shaping and shaping cells and a transport subsystem. The dispensing cell has a station for dispensing a dose of plastic feedstock. The pre-shaping and shaping cells each comprise a plurality of stations for shaping the workpiece into a preform shape and into a final shape, respectively. The transport subsystem advances a workpiece along a selected one of a plurality of process paths to form a molded article. Each of the plurality of process paths is defined by a combination of stations of the dispensing cell, the pre-shaping cell and the shaping cell.
Mold
A mold for injection molding includes: three or more cavity rows, each cavity row having a plurality of cavities; and a cooling flow path configured to allow a cooling medium to flow through the cooling flow path, the cooling medium cooling the cavities, the cooling flow path including: at least one supply port; a distribution conduit communicated with the supply port; a supply conduit communicated with the distribution conduit; a cavity cooling portion communicated with the supply conduit and provided to an outer periphery of the cavities; a discharge conduit communicated with the cavity cooling portion; a collecting conduit communicated with the discharge conduit; and at least one discharge port communicated with the collecting conduit, and the supply conduit and the discharge conduit are parallel to the cavity rows, and at least one supply conduit and at least one discharge conduit are provided for each cavity row.
TUBING COUPLER MOLDINGS AND SYSTEMS, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A tubing system with a coupler join positioned between and joining tubing segments. The coupler join is formed to reduce dead legs and hold up volumes within, and/or to reduce materials used to form, and/or to simplify the manufacturing process of the tubing system. The coupler join may be sized, shaped, configured, and/or dimensioned to join tubing segments, such as pre-formed tubing segments, in a streamlined configuration, such as to substantially correspond with the outer and inner diameters of the tubing segments. The tubing system and coupler join may be formed with a mold configured to form a coupler join securely coupling spaced apart ends of tubing segments to be joined together in a configuration which reduces dead legs and hold up volumes within the resulting tubing system.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLYING MOLDABLE MATERIAL TO A PIPE
A molding system for applying moldable material to a pipe. An elongate mold has at least one elongate mold member movable relative another elongate mold member between open and closed positions. In the closed position, the mold may define an elongate vent between the mold members that extends along the longitudinal axis of the mold. Air in the mold cavity displaced by moldable material received into the mold cavity vents through the elongate vent along the longitudinal axis of the mold. The mold can include a positioner that positions the mold members in the closed position while the mold is filled with the moldable material. The positioner also allows movement of the first mold member toward the open position to partially open the mold as the moldable material cures to reduce forces imparted upon the mold due to expansion of the moldable material during curing.
