A mold and related molding method are also provided.
Molding device and molding method
A molding device includes a mold cavity defined by an upper mold, a lower mold and a middle mold being moveably attached to the lower mold; a position control mechanism configured to move the middle mold; and a gas discharging mechanism disposed adjacent to the mold cavity and including a gas conduit and a slit jointly defined by the upper mold and the lower mold when the molding device is closed, the slit is in communication with the mold cavity and the gas conduit. A molding method includes injecting a material into a mold cavity to form an article in the mold cavity; discharging at least a portion of a gas out of the mold cavity through a slit of a gas discharging mechanism adjacent to the mold cavity after the article is formed; disengaging a upper mold from a lower mold; and detaching the article from a middle mold.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PLAY-OF-COLOR ARTICLE, PLAY-OF-COLOR ARTICLE, AND PLAY-OF-COLOR PRODUCT INCLUDING THE SAME
A method for manufacturing a play-of-color article includes the steps of: (a) providing a first mixture that contains a solvent and a plurality of functionalized colloidal particles; (b) replacing the solvent of the first mixture with a polymer solution that contains polymers, thereby obtaining a second mixture; (c) adding an initiator to the second mixture to obtain a third mixture, followed by injecting the third mixture into a mold and disturbing the third mixture, so that the third mixture is formed with a pattern; (d) leaving the third mixture to stand, so as to allow the functionalized colloidal particles therein to self-assemble to form a crystalline arrangement, thereby obtaining a fourth mixture; and (e) subjecting the polymers in the fourth mixture to a cross-linking reaction, thereby obtaining the play-of-color article. A play-of-color article manufactured by the method, and a play-of-color product including the play-of-color article are also provided.
Injection molding apparatus and method of external induction heating with alternating insert plates
An injection molding apparatus and method are provided, comprising: a core plate having a male protrusion; a cavity plate having a female cavity configured to be mated with the male protrusion; a first insert plate; a second insert plate connected to the first insert plate by a rotating arm; a motor; connected to the rotating arm, operable to rotate the first insert plate and the second insert plate in and out of the female cavity of the cavity plate; and an induction heating device, positioned outside of the cavity plate, operable to cause an induction current on a surface of either the first insert plate or the second insert plate when either are rotated outside of the female cavity.
METHOD FOR MOLDING A PART, FOR EXAMPLE FOR VEHICLE INTERIORS, TYPICALLY A DASHBOARD AND/OR INTERNAL PANELS, AND CORRESPONDING PART
An injection molding method of a part for vehicle interiors includes arranging a mold having a first injection chamber defining in negative a base of the part. Thermoplastic material is injected into the first chamber and the base is extracted from the first chamber and placed in a second injection chamber. A lining film is inserted in the second chamber and deforming it to arrange the film on an outer surface thereof, adhering to an esthetic wall of the second chamber opposite a functional wall. An intermediate plastic layer is injected in a gap between an inner wall of the base facing the lining film, and an inner surface of the lining film opposite the outer surface to create a single sandwich structure. The intermediate layer is between the lining film and the base, has lower hardness than the base and forms a yielding padding for the lining film.
Injection-molding machine
The production of a plastic molded part utilizes a barrier layer embedded in plastic. Plastic is injection-molded successively in different cavities of the injection mold onto a three-dimensional preform made from a cut of a multi-layer barrier film, which multi-layer barrier film comprises a barrier layer coated with plastic on both sides. The plastic coating of the barrier film cut is at least superficially melted by the injected plastic melt. And the preform is supported by a support formed on the corresponding partial mold on the respective opposite side.
Multi-component injection-molding machine having a rotatable center part
In a three-plate injection-molding machine comprising a nozzle plate, a movable second mold clamping plate, a movable end plate, a closing unit that acts between the end plate and the second mold clamping plate, and a turning unit arranged between the nozzle plate and the second mold clamping plate, rails extend between the nozzle plate and the end plate. The mold-half carrier of the turning unit is supported on a support structure so that it can be rotated about an axis transverse to the machine axis, which support structure forms the abutment for the mold-half carrier rotary drive. The weight of the support structure and mold-half carrier of the turning unit is transferred into the machine bed by means of linear guides, and a substantial part of the reaction torque applied to the support structure is transferred to one of the rails by means of one supporting guide.
