A molding method includes providing a molding device, wherein the molding device includes a first mold and a second mold corresponding to the first mold; moving the first mold towards the second mold to form a first mold cavity; supplying a gas to the first mold cavity; injecting a material into the first mold cavity; and moving the first mold away from the second mold to form a second mold cavity and discharge at least a portion of the gas out of the molding device, wherein a first volume of the first mold cavity is substantially less than a second volume of the second mold cavity.

Wafer level mold chase

A mold chase is provided, including a lower mold support and an upper mold support which are configured to be pressed together to form a mold cavity therebetween for receiving a wafer level substrate. The mold chase also includes multiple gates and at least one vent disposed along the periphery of the mold cavity. The gates are configured to allow a mold material to be injected into the mold cavity, and the vents are configured to release gas from the mold cavity. The distance between one of the gates and the closest vent is less than the diameter of the mold cavity.

Wafer-level underfill and over-molding

A mold includes a top portion, and an edge ring having a ring-shape. The edge ring is underlying and connected to edges of the top portion. The edge ring includes air vents. The edge ring further encircles the inner space under the top portion of the mold. A plurality of injection ports is connected to the inner space of the mold. The plurality of injection ports is substantially aligned to a straight line crossing a center of the top portion of the mold. The plurality of injection ports has different sizes.

An apparatus for molding a part includes a plunger cavity, a plunger, and a mold cavity, wherein the plunger is oriented out-of-plane with respect to a major surface of the mold cavity, and first and second vents couples to respective first and second portions of the mold cavity. In a method, resin and fiber are forced into the mold cavity from a plunger cavity, and at least some of the fibers and resin are preferentially flowed to certain region in the mold cavity via the use of vents.

Method of making a unitary brush head and unitary toothbrush head

A method of manufacturing a unitary toothbrush head having a base and filaments extending therefrom. The method includes steps of injecting molten plastic material into a mold cavity having a pre-base cavity and a filament cavity extending therefrom; compressing the molten plastic material, once it is essentially filling the pre-base cavity, by impressing a punching tool into the molten plastic material from the rear side of the pre-base cavity being opposite to a side from which the filament cavity extends; and filling the filament cavity with the molten plastic material under the continuous impression of the punching tool.
