Injection molding device for thick lenses and method of manufacturing
The multistep injection molding device is for manufacturing thick lenses for use with an illumination apparatus. The injection molding device includes two sets of mold core inserts forming mold cavities when the injection molding device is in a closed position. The lens core part is formed in a first injection shot station. The molded lens core part is then moved to a post-molding cooling station in which it is further cooled inside a corresponding mold cavity. Two outer lens parts are formed sequentially over the lens core part in second and third injection shot stations. A method of manufacturing a thick lens is also disclosed.
Post-mold cooling method and apparatus with cyclone cooling effect
A post-molding cooling apparatus directs a stream of cooling fluid against a concave interior surface of a molded article to cool the molded article. The apparatus includes an outlet positioned to direct the stream of cooling fluid into an open end of the molded article. The interior surface of the molded article is concave. The outlet is configured to direct the stream of cooling fluid in a helical direction such that at least a portion of the concave interior surface of the molded article acts as a curved surface relative to a direction of flow of the stream of cooling fluid to create turbulent flow of the stream of cooling fluid against the concave interior surface of the molded article along a length of the concave interior surface from the open end of the molded article toward a closed end of the molded article.
Wheel and method for producing the wheel
A wheel, in particular a counting wheel for a meter, includes a bearing bush and a wheel rim. The bearing bush and the wheel rim are produced from different materials. The bearing bush and the wheel rim can move relative to one another in the rotational direction through a guide having complementarily corresponding guide elements on the bearing bush and the wheel rim extending continuously in the circumferential direction of the counting wheel.
HORSE SHOEING, ESPECIALLY FOR RACEHORSES
There is shown and described a shoeing for horses, in particular for racehorses being used in competition, constructed from a core made of fiber-reinforced plastic material which is surrounded by a functional layer made of plastic.
According to the invention it is provided that the core is formed substantially from a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic polymer material (i.e. a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic) and the functional layer is formed substantially from a thermoplastic polycarbonate material or a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic polycarbonate material (i.e. a thermoplastic or a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic).
Furthermore there is shown and described a thermoplastic injection molding method for producing the shoeing.
Post-mold retaining apparatus and method
A retaining pin for handling injection molded preforms includes a body including an internal body flow channel, and a plunger coupled to the body and movable relative to the body between advanced and retracted positions. The plunger includes an internal plunger flow channel. The plunger further includes a plunger abutment surface directed away from the body. The plunger is biased toward the advanced position and movable to the retracted position by engagement of the plunger abutment surface with an inner surface of a closed end of a preform when the preform and retaining pin are moved toward each other. The body flow channel and the plunger flow channel are in fluid communication when the plunger is in the retracted position. Fluid communication between the plunger flow channel and the body flow channel is inhibited when the plunger is in the advanced position.
DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A PRODUCT BY MEANS OF INJECTION MOLDING, AND METHOD
The invention relates to a molding device for producing a product by means of injection molding. The molding device comprises a central mold part, which can be rotated about a rotational axis and which comprises at least one inner mold half arranged on the central mold part, and at least one outer mold half, which interacts with the inner mold half in order to form cavities in a closed configuration of the molding device and which is arranged in a movable manner relative to the inner mold half in a first direction (x). Furthermore, at least one first connector element arranged on the central mold part and at least one second connector element arranged on the outer mold half are provided, said second connector element being operatively connected to the first connector element at least in a closed configuration of the molding device.
CUSHIONED GRIP
A cushioned article includes a cage and a compressible material. The cage has at least one opening, an interior volume, and an outer surface. The at least one opening provides a passage from the outer surface to the interior volume. The compressible material extends through the at least one opening in the cage. A method for manufacturing a cushioned article includes providing a mold having at least one cavity, placing a cage within the mold, and injecting a compressible material into an interior of the cage. The cage includes at least one opening. A portion of the compressible material flows through the at least one opening in the cage and fills the at least one cavity of the mold. One or more shields may be connected to the cage before injection. The shields may be removed with the cage and heat treated with the shields still connected to the cage.
SLIDABLE COOLING PIN FOR POST MOLD COOLING
An apparatus includes a cooling pin to slidably extend from a frame and to be inserted into an injection molded article. The cooling pin is hollow to allow for flow of cooling fluid through the cooling pin. The cooling pin has a hole to be in fluid communication with a source of vacuum to draw cooling fluid within the injection molded article into the cooling pin. The cooling pin has a first position with respect to the frame, the first position to allow flow of cooling fluid through the hole. The cooling pin has a second position with respect to the frame, the second position to shut off flow of cooling fluid into the cooling pin.
Component of a molding system for cooling a molded article
Disclosed herein, amongst other things is a component of a molding system (e.g. mold component, post-mold component, etc.) having a heat dissipater that is configured to impart a profiled heat removal rate on a selected portion of a molded article that generally matches a heat distribution therein.
SOLID SURFACE PRODUCT AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF
The present invention relates to the field of products known as solid surface. In particular, the present invention relates to a precursor liquid composition of a solid surface material, the solid composition formed from said liquid composition and their manufacturing processes.
