VERTICALLY ADDED PROCESSING FOR BLOW MOLDING MACHINE
A vertical additive processing system for use with a blow molding machine having a flow head from which a plastic parison is delivered to a mold and producing an article. The system has a servo-controlled accumulation technology (SCAT) unit including (a) an accumulator collecting plastic material when retracted and delivering plastic material when extended, and (b) an actuator directing the accumulator to retract and extend. The system further has a tooling unit including a bushing body adapted to engage the flow head, a distribution ring, a bushing cap, a central aperture defining a main parison flow path, and a distribution channel delivering plastic material received from the accumulator to the main parison flow path. The system still further has a material duct connecting the two units through which plastic material delivered by the SCAT unit is transported to and received by the tooling unit. Also disclosed is a related method.
CO-EXTRUSION OF PERIODICALLY MODULATED STRUCTURES
A method of forming an extruded structure includes dispensing at least a first material through an extrusion head, varying a pressure applied during extrusion of the first material over time, and depositing the first material on a substrate, wherein a width of the first material varies with a pressure forming a stripe of the first material having a varying width along a length of the stripe.
CONDUIT AND METHOD OF FORMING
A thin ribbon spirally wound polymer conduit and method of forming, wherein a helical reinforcing bead is interposed adjacent overlapping layers of ribbon. Further, a method of continuously forming spirally wound conduit wherein a sacrificial layer, preferably having a different base polymer to that of the conduit, is first applied to the former before the conduit is formed overtop.
Drug delivery devices with drug-permeable component and methods
Drug delivery devices having a drug-permeable component and methods of making and using the same are provided. Drug delivery devices include a housing having a first and second wall structures that are adjacent one another and together form a tube defining a drug reservoir lumen. The second wall structure, or both the first wall structure and the second wall structure, are permeable to water, and the first wall structure is impermeable to the drug while the second wall structure is permeable to the drug, such that the drug is releasable in vivo by diffusion through the second wall structure.
MULTI-COMPONENT EXTRUSION DIE HEAD, MULTI-COMPONENT EXTRUSION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPOSITE TUBE
A multi-component extrusion die head for producing a composite tube comprises an extrusion nozzle, a main die head, and a melt flow distributor device. The main die head is configured to supply the extrusion nozzle with a first melt flow and a second melt flow, which are guided separately from one anther in the extrusion nozzle away from the main die head and toward a nozzle outlet of the extrusion nozzle. The melt flow distributor device is arranged in the extrusion nozzle outside of the main die head and is configured to split the first melt flow in a peripheral direction thereof, and to supply the second melt flow to the first melt flow such that at least one section of the second melt flow is arranged within the first melt flow in the peripheral direction.
WEATHERSTRIP MANUFACTURING METHOD
A weatherstrip manufacturing method is a method for manufacturing a weatherstrip which includes a trim portion where an insert is embedded. The insert includes short connecting portions that connect strips at substantially regular intervals, and a long connecting portion having a larger length than each length of the short connecting portions. The method includes an extrusion molding step for covering the insert with a polymer material, a cut-off portion forming step for cutting off a part of a long interval portion including the long connecting portion in the long interval portion where the long connecting portion is embedded to form a cut-off portion, and a cutting step for cutting the cut-off portion in a crossing direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction to divide the weatherstrip in the longitudinal direction.
Floor panel
A floor may include a substrate having a top side and a bottom side. A top layer may be provided on the substrate. The top layer may consist of a printed thermoplastic film and a thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer provided on the printed thermoplastic film. The top layer may be directly adhered to the substrate by heat welding the printed thermoplastic film and the top side of the substrate, in the absence of a glue layer. The substrate may be a synthetic material board including a filler. The substrate at least at two opposite edges may include coupling means provided in the synthetic material board. The thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer may be provided with a structure.
Process for the production of stretch film
The present invention relates to a process for the production of a stretch film comprising a) providing a film web comprising a center portion comprising linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and edge portions comprising low density polyethylene (LDPE) using an encapsulation die, b) solidifying the film web to obtain a solidified film web comprising a solidified center portion comprising LLDPE and solidified edge portions comprising LDPE and c) removing the solidified edge portions from the solidified film web to obtain the stretch film.
