Split sheath introducer and method of manufacturing a split sheath introducer
A splittable introducer sheath includes a tubular body portion formed from a first material and at least one stripe extending an entire length of the main body portion, the at least one stripe being formed form a second material. The first material is one of a medium-density polyethylene modified with a friction-reducing additive or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) modified with a friction-reducing additive. The second material is a thermoplastic elastomer modified with a siloxane additive. The sheath is dividable longitudinally along the at least one stripe.
Multi-component extrusion die head, multi-component extrusion system and method for producing a composite tube
A multi-component extrusion die head for producing a composite tube comprises an extrusion nozzle, a main die head, and a melt flow distributor device. The main die head is configured to supply the extrusion nozzle with a first melt flow and a second melt flow, which are guided separately from one anther in the extrusion nozzle away from the main die head and toward a nozzle outlet of the extrusion nozzle. The melt flow distributor device is arranged in the extrusion nozzle outside of the main die head and is configured to split the first melt flow in a peripheral direction thereof, and to supply the second melt flow to the first melt flow such that at least one section of the second melt flow is arranged within the first melt flow in the peripheral direction.

Extruded board with realistic appearance
In one embodiment, a method of forming an extruded board includes mixing a resin and a foaming agent, melting the mixed resin and foaming agent to form a uniformly colored extrudate, differentially expanding voids formed from the foaming agent within the uniformly colored extrudate by passing the uniformly colored extrudate through a breaker plate, forming a board with the differentially expanded voids and uniformly colored extrudate, and forming lightened portions on an outermost surface of the formed board.
Method and device for cutting off an extrudate
A process unit and methods are disclosed. One process unit including a pultrusion unit having a pultrusion channel, with the pultrusion channel being limited by at least one shaping wall. The process unit further includes an extrusion unit having an extrusion channel and an opening for removing the extrudate out of the extrusion channel, a cutting unit having a moving cutting element for cutting off the extrudate with the moving cutting element, and a conveying device for conveying a raw extrudate from the pultrusion unit into the extrusion unit. The cutting unit comprises a component that can be caused to move in a rotational manner and the component is mechanically coupled to the cutting element by a mechanical coupling device, such that the rotational movement of the component determines the movement of the cutting element.
COEXTRUSION OF PERIODICALLY MODULATED STRUCTURES
A method for manufacturing a foil having a variable strip geometry, which makes it possible to supply a foil that bears a complex security feature. Varying of the geometry is effected by means of a movement of a position-variable distributor rail of the extruder.
