An extruder head for extruding a strand of building material for 3D printing of a structural part. The extruder head has an extruder nozzle with a discharge opening for discharging the strand of building material out of the extruder head in a discharge direction, a specification element designed to be variably adjustable for variably settably specifying at least a part of a strand cross section of the strand of building material being discharged, and a setting apparatus designed for variably setting the at least one specification element. The setting apparatus is designed and arranged such that the extruder head, in a first extent direction which differs from the discharge direction, extends below the discharge opening, in the case of a maximum opening height, by at most the maximum opening height, and/or, in at least one second extent direction differing from the discharge direction, extends to the side of the discharge opening, in the case of a maximum opening width, by at most the maximum opening width.

An annular nozzle contains a nozzle body, the nozzle body comprising at least one annular gap for the discharge of a film. The annular gap is laterally bounded by a stationary wall and a flexible lip. A plurality of threaded pins and a corresponding number of bolts are arranged in the nozzle body. Each of the threaded pins is rotatably mounted in a first bore in the nozzle body. Each of the bolts is slidably mounted in the nozzle body in a second bore in the nozzle body. The bolt is in contact with the flexible lip and the corresponding threaded pin so that a compressive force can be transferred from the threaded pin to the bolt and via the bolt to the flexible lip.

An extruder having an extruder crosshead, a die, and a die retaining assembly. The extruder crosshead has an annular major surface while the die has a first die surface facing and conformal to that major surface. The die also has a second die surface opposed to the first die surface. The die-retaining assembly is attached to the extruder crosshead, evenly and variably pressing the second die surface with controlled pressure such that the substantially opposing first die surface is pressed into the major surface of the extruder crosshead. The die-retaining also includes movable elements which abut the die in order to move the die. The die-retaining assembly can be used to evenly reduce the pressure exerted by over the second die surface so that the position adjustment elements can be used to more easily adjust the position of the die.

A die attached to a cylinder of an extruder includes: an inflow port for supplying a molten resin from the cylinder; a plurality of hole portions for discharging a strand made of the molten resin; a resin flow path portion 22 extending in a flow path direction that leads to the plurality of hole portions from the inflow port; and a plate member 11 movable in an up-and-down direction so as to protrude toward the resin flow path portion 22. The plate member 11 is arranged along an X direction, and both end portions of the plate member 11 in the X direction move in an up-and-down direction so as to contact with an inner wall of the resin flow path portion 22. A protrusion amount t1 of the plate member 11 into the resin flow path portion 22 becomes small from a central portion in the X direction toward both end portions.
