A device and method enabling industrial continuous pressing, called extrusion of plastically/thermally mouldable substances such as metal, composite metal, plastic, composite or rubber, which is pressed to the profile by a process including a tool fixed member partially predefining the profile shape/cross-section before the profile is finally defined to a cross-section when the material passes rotating dies, which through contact with each other, cancel out main radial forces and the position of which may vary relative to other bearing surfaces or rotary bearing surfaces of the tool with which they define the final shape of the profile. The device and method enable the extrusion of pattern on the inside of hollow profiles and the extrusion of multiple profiles in one tool, because 80-98% of radial bearing forces are eliminated, allowing the installation of rotary dies where not previously possible, and almost unlimited opportunities in increased profile width.

APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR SHAPING AN EXTRUDABLE MATERIAL

An apparatus for shaping an extrudable material comprises a sleeve, comprising a first sleeve end, a sleeve inlet at the first sleeve end, a second sleeve end, opposite the first sleeve end, and a sleeve outlet at the second sleeve end. The extrudable material enters the sleeve through the sleeve inlet and exits the sleeve through the sleeve outlet. The apparatus further comprises an actuation mechanism, selectively operable to change at least one of a size or a shape of the sleeve outlet. The sleeve is sufficiently flexible to enable the actuation mechanism to change at least one of the size or the shape of the sleeve outlet. The sleeve is insufficiently stretchable to enable the actuation mechanism to stretch the sleeve.

Rubber extrusion device and method for manufacturing rubber extrudate

A rubber extrusion device includes a head mounted with a die having: an extrusion port variable member disposed at a front end position of an extrusion flow path to move in a direction allowing an area of an extrusion port to change; and a rectifying body that enters and exits the extrusion flow path from a front end side of the extrusion flow path. A rubber extrudate is manufactured by: positioning the extrusion port variable member at a desired position in its movement direction; positioning the rectifying body at a desired position by moving the rectifying body in an extension direction of the extrusion flow path while being in contact with an inner wall of the extrusion flow path; and extruding unvulcanized rubber from the extrusion port by feeding the unvulcanized rubber into the extrusion flow path.

System and method for adjusting the land channel length on an extrusion die

An extrusion die with adjustable land channel can be formed of a die body that includes a first die body portion and a second die body portion, a first lip body, a second lip body, and a land channel body. The extrusion die can have a flow channel that includes a land channel terminating in an outlet orifice. The flow channel may be bound on one side by the first die body portion, the land channel body, and the first lip body. The flow channel may be bound on an opposite side by the second die body portion and the second lip body. In some examples, the length of the land channel is adjustable by configuring the land channel body and/or first lip body to move across the width of the flow channel.
