Provided herein is: a method of efficiently manufacturing a curable silicone sheet with excellent flatness and uniformity, containing a curable particulate silicone composition with excellent handling/workability and curing properties; and a method of manufacturing a laminate body containing the curable silicone sheet. A method of manufacturing a curable silicone sheet having hot melt properties, comprises the following steps: 1) a step of mixing organopolysiloxane resin fine particles, a curing agent, and a functional filler; 2) a step of kneading while heating and melting the mixture obtained in step 1); 3) a step of laminating the heated and melted mixture obtained in step 2) between films provided with at least one release surface; and 4) a step of stretching the laminate body obtained in step 3) between rollers to mold a curable silicone sheet having a specific film thickness.

A ram extrusion apparatus including a die having several thermal zones, a hopper for introducing a granular polymer resin to the die, and a ram for moving the granular polymer resin through the thermal zones of the die and out from an outlet end thereof at a temperature above the crystalline melt temperature of the polymer resin. The hopper may be designed to deliver the polymer resin into a resin inlet of the die in a plurality of specifically metered amounts which may vary across a width of the resin inlet end of the die. The apparatus may further include one or more finishing tables positioned after the outlet end of the die for receiving and moving the extruded resin away from the outlet end of the die so that there is no backpressure on the extruded resin, and which provide compression force and even cooling to the extruded resin.

A process for recovery and devulcanization of vulcanized rubber is provided. The process takes place in a plant including a mill for grinding vulcanized rubber into particles, a twin-screw extruder provided with a device for forced feeding of vulcanized rubber particles and a thermostatting device, a single-screw extruder arranged downstream of the twin-screw extruder and equipped with a thermostatting device, a filter for devulcanized rubber and an extrusion die shaped like a slot, from the which devulcanized rubber comes out in the form of a strip or sheet, and a cooling device for the devulcanized rubber strip or sheet. The twin-screw extruder operates at a temperature between 35 and 450° C., with a rotation speed of the screws between 15 and 600 rpm, and a torque density between 11 and 18 Nm/cm.sup.3, so that the shear rate remains constant for the entire longitudinal extension of the twin-screw extruder.

The machine includes an extrusion head having flow ducts, the inlet orifices of which are connected to the outlets of at least two extruders for supplying extruded strips made of elastomeric compounds. The outlet orifices lead into a die which is adjacent to a roller and is designed to cooperate with the latter to shape the profiled element strip. The roller has a central axis surrounded by an external surface intended to receive the profiled element strip and a means for driving the roller in rotation about its central axis. The flow ducts are mutually parallel and are perpendicular to the circumferential direction of the roller, and the profiled element strip is joined to the receiving surface of the roller along an equivalent length of at least 700 mm.

More specifically, embodiments relate to a non-proportional draw die used to produce oriented, dimensionally accurate, symmetric or asymmetric polymer composite profiles having simple profiles or complicated profiles with multiple edges. Moreover, the draw die of the disclosure prevents natural flattening of the edges of the final profile during the solid state die drawing process of the oriented polymer composite.

A method includes the steps of: (1) extruding a thermoplastic, fluoroplastic material to form of a sheet; (2) passing the sheet through a nip region provided by opposed rollers; at least one having an outer surface with counter-sunk grooves. Counter-sunk grooves in one roller are aligned with an outer surface or counter-sunk grooves of the other roller in the nip region to form a ribbed sheet having ribs upstanding from at least one surface of said sheet; (3) setting the ribbed sheet and (4) punching apertures through the ribbed sheet in a predetermined pattern.
